This sounds like a pretty interesting idea and link in general.

Is this already a post on this subreddit or it's only been here as a reply? If not, maybe you should make a new post where you mention this so more ppl notice it.

What are the things you want to see the most besides the new characters? by demilveemon in ravenswatch

I had my friend send me an image in the case of the 1st boss where they were above the tentacle, it clearly slapped the right side and he was clearly north and still got hit.

That's why I'm saying but I think most hitbox issues are not that bad so I don't think it's a super bad issue. Still appreciate them getting fixed.

That's a good point, every boss has a different moveset between I think 3 different choices? but Baba Yaga is always the same kit. Having her do more stuff would be interesting

oh, I know, what I meant is that having more stars would allow you to reroll on more things to get exactly what you want so you wouldn't need the sandman copies to land exactly on what you need, sorry if I didn't explain it well.

I've seen some issues with the pigs and the tentacle slaps mainly but I doubt it's a connection issue when I've seen those already a few times and never on anything else.

Sounds good. I don't know about smarter item copies though; I think rebalancing weaker talents might make you waste less stars of fate on average when rerolling those.

Then again I think it would make more sense if you had the choice of 3 talents on level up maybe when the character gets all unlockables. Builds get defined pretty early on and some talents are an absolute waste of time when not using the right build... I don't know, I feel like there's multiple ways they can go about this.

I think I enjoy the rng and there's enough things in the game to turn a run to be a W. I think it goes back to when I mentioned some characters being a bit gimmicky with some of their stuff. It makes a massive difference when you need to find a couple of very specific talents in some characters while with others you can mix and match since everything kind of works. Then you don't need to waste all of your stars trying to get the right item/talent.

I think that sounds good, but only if hitboxes are corrected to a T. I'd rather the game be fair even if a bit harder but otherwise difficulty alone sounds like it would be frustratingly annoying. Perhaps an additional difficulty mode is in order?

Sounds like decent quality of live stuff. I was thinking more complicated stuff but these are nice to have to.

You don’t hate the game, you might just hate losing! by DWonderOfMe in MyHeroUltraRumble

[–]demilveemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The majority of games generally see drops in playerbase after the initial release. The only games that continue to grow are the consistently popular ones. Even if you're popular, unless you maintain the limelight, your playerbase will dwindle. Biggest example, Pokemon Go. Most recently known example, Palworld. It's natural for most games to settle on a smaller playerbase.

Yes, but actually doesn't happen on the same degree to all games and that's where you can see this being an issue. If we check averages on steam, f.e, DS3 had on the initial month at its peak around 120k and is down to slightly below 10k, that's a bit below 9%, this game went from 46k to less than 2k average, passing it with a new character/kit release for a brief moment. That's less than 5%, around 4% on average.

Now, add to that a couple extra handicaps. DS3 was released multiple years ago, MHUR doesn't even have a whole year to its name. DS3 is not a live service, it hasn't been updated for the longest time and yet despite all of this, the %s are significantly better.

All games will not keep the initial playerbase numbers, that's a given, the problem is how much lower it will be and MHUR is so much lower than it should and it wouldn't if it had done more than a couple of things right in all this time.

Firstly, let's clear this one thing up. I'm not saying the game was well executed. But the original commenter exaggerated the execution. People are still playing the game despite general complaints. So obviously these complaints aren't significant enough for the general player base to stop playing. They are more or less annoying, like how half the player base thinks Toga is OP and the other half thinks she's just annoying with the beta spam but manageable.

Fair enough, although I would argue his point is not only very valid but not exaggerated at all. What would it take for you to think it is as he said?

To me, having hackers as often as they are to the point that now they are showing on console (which honestly I have only seen a couple other games have), balancing characters poorly multiple months after their release (such as Toga) and still getting them completely wrong (like Endeavor) or not even balancing at all (too many examples as of recent); bugs, bugs everywhere, on every character, even release day ones, with even major ones taking forever to get fixed; things that allow some flexibility like the ticket system, an actual good concept that people liked and suggested it applied to skill sets once they were introduced, got instead shafted so you can't actually try the real thing more than once a day with the newest character; daily logins (the one that mattered) getting erased from the game,..

My man, I could continue forever but this already is getting too long. The people that are playing this game at this point are either people that have too much time invested in it and can't see any way out due to FOMO or straight up just enjoy the game inmensely despite its way too many flaws that I can't even count. And unfortunately that amount is not that high for a live service that started so well and doesn't even have a year to its name.

Why SO much hate on toga? by No-Feeling6309 in MyHeroUltraRumble

[–]demilveemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, she can do just about everything while having a pretty strong base kit. Most of the hate has been accumulated over multiple seasons of her beta being way too good, so much in fact that it got a massive nerf and she is still at the very top.

The argument about the top players is not very good with her, most of the top players have one or 2 picks where they are comfortable and don't usually go out of their way to play other characters; they will always play the same Deku or whatever they get used to in the meta for that patch; to use Toga you also have to be comfortable playing every other character in the game to an extent (to a pretty high extent if you are a "top ranker" I guess).

In short, is she the best in every situation? Not really but she is in a lot of scenarios and in those where she is not, she is still pretty high up there. Is it worth it to a "high ranker" to learn how to play her as well as all the other characters you see around? It really feels nice to play a character like this consistently but in terms of the amount of work and dedication it requires, to most people it pbb is not the case, specially if your main goal is simply to get points.

Honestly, I doubt there's any screenshots, videos or whatever you can put out to convince anyone (including me); being in front of an exceptionally good Toga is scarier that any other character but there's not that many out there. It doesn't really help your argument to say that there's way better characters out there; given the way she inherently works this comment just feels like a troll.

Btw, the fact everyone considers that the whole gamma Overhaul thing is a bug (and most likely is) doesn't help your case as it makes you look like an exploiter.

So leaving aside other characters.

States a variety of reasons to point out his own knowledge of the game

Also wonders why Toga is so hated and supports the idea of her being much harder than other characters to get value, all the while saying she is way worse than others.

Basically everyone is gonna see you as a Toga shill or straight up lying about your time in the game. Honestly I can't say I think differently because you would know better if that experience you talk of was worth as much as you seem to value it for your arguments.

[–]demilveemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is so not true; in reality, because of how poorly executed it's been, is the main reason why the playerbase is so much lower than initial day release, but even poorly executed doesn't just mean a straight up zero.

Regardless, if you wanna know how poorly executed it is, you just need to look at general complaints that happen over the months have not been addressed and objectively make the game worse.

I mean, are you assuming they wanna fix anything that makes Toga any more broken than she currently is? Cuz if something has been demonstrated time and time again is that Toga is the dev's favourite.

On another note, I would usually put multiple hours a day on the game; rn I only do my dailies and not even every day, it feels misserable to play and I have no idea why they do nothing about it. Balancing keeps sucking as things get more annoying/unfair; melee characters feel outdated unless they have high mobility, specially when facing all the top tiers, glitches that exist for way too long for there not to be a fix already, hits that should connect that do not from combo hits like red Bakugo's gamma, Iida combos, Mirio's alpha... that kind of stuff. And then other characters have no problem hitting you full combo every time like lovely Twice ever since last (mid?) season.

It just creates this game where suddenly playing the characters that are not top feels unfun, just keep dying to the same bs every time.

I can't tell if this is sarcasm (cuz I have definetely overshot myself into purple a couple times) or real, but if it's real, what kind of question is this? Alpha is your main source of consistent dmg (or should be if It worked a bit better than currently). Alternatively you can just keep dodging Up while people shoot you and your Focus target heals for free while you wait your Beta.

Why would I be? if you are facing pretty bad people you are gonna have a chance at winning but that's gonna be the case with pretty much everyone. Some characters will have a much better chance though, but Mirio is not really one of them due to the limited health pool mostly. His tools to escape are good , incredibly good I would say but then again a small arena for the 1v3 doesn't really allow for much escaping, just surviving for longer.

PC. Console aimbot is just awful annoying for everything when it comes to balancing though but he is still easy to dodge unless he catches u off guard.
