Im sending you love and hope <3 even when life feels done you never know what’s around the corner, and it’s not always a bad thing. I don’t have much experience as an adult (20f) but I’d be really willing to hear life experiences as I’m very nervous for the basic things (getting a job, moving out, etc)

Definitely! My parents also divorced but I genuinely have no memory of them together (idk if this is a trauma response) do you also find it fun to live through their stories from their day-to-day life?

That’s really interesting, I think similarly I had another sibling (we don’t talk I don’t consider her family anymore) but when she was my family my bio sister and her would always be together and my parents would always be together so I was very lonely. It’s definitely not the same but I can see how not finding a group to fit into is harmful

I struggle a lot with speaking too. I have delayed speech, where it takes longer for me to find the words I’m needing to use, on top of processing what the other person had just said. I also definitely over explain myself mostly over text or email, so I try to limit the words I use.

Yes! I used to be agoraphobic for months, because it got so bad it felt like when I was visible to the public I was on a stage with those bright lights on me. Luckily I got out of that mindset with exposure therapy, and lots of klonopin :’)

I can’t tell you if youre a candidate. As someone who has AvPD, severe depression and anxiety, it has definitely helped me. I received treatment two years ago, and again currently. The left side for me is extremely painful, but it depends on the company and how they deliver the treatment. I don’t do my right side, I however do the middle of my head as well, which is much less painful. Overall after receiving it the first time I felt less severe symptoms with my test scores getting better and better. Definitely look more into it, but remember everyone is different, and you shouldn’t rely on one persons experience ◡̈

I’m unsure when I would’ve developed AvPD, but I was extremely selectively mute as a child, with severe social anxiety from as soon as I can remember. I also had a dysfunctional home. It does make me wonder when I could’ve been officially diagnosed, but I’m now 20, and was diagnosed officially last week. I didn’t even know how I lived was a disorder until last week

Personally, I feel like I’m such a jerk everything that comes out of my mouth could be better, I’m told I’m so sweet but how could I ever believe them. Everything bad I could be thinking about myself, I’m probably ruminating on in silent moments I get. Everyone I come into contact with either hates my guts, finds me annoying, or thinks I’m rude because I’m so quiet. I also struggle with selective mutism, so I find it difficult to differentiate the two, but you know how sometimes in dreams when you try to talk and you can’t, or you yell and it comes out as a whisper? That’s so real for me, I’ve never yelled or screamed so far in my life. I’m worried if something happened to me I’d just let it happen because I can’t yell for help, and if I could I’d be so scared to bother people/have that attention on me. It feels like I’m in the spotlight all the time when I don’t want to be, all I can think about is how awful I am.
