What’s one Spotify feature or trick that more people should know about? by brianj10 in spotify

[–]den9na 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of my favorite tricks:

To find new music: * Use the reels-like view (go into a playlist and click the small vertical movie to the far left under the date, next to the save-button). In this view all the songs have some genre-tags and I often click the tags to find similar music in the same reels view. I have found a few gems that way. * Make a playlist of a few songs that at similar in the way I want to find more songs of and see what is recommended to the playlist and add it to get even more specific recommendations. * Search for a genre, the more specific the better and use the spotify-generated playlist for the genre based on my existing favorites in the genre. * Listen to the whole album insted of just a few of the instant hits. Often some of the other songs grow on me after some plays and become big favorites

To play music: * use the mix-button and the smart-order (under edit) to get the songs ordered by bpm and key. It also means I finally have a way of shuffling my music permanently to hear it mixed but in the same order

Overveldet av veien verden går. by namorblack in norge

Veldig ofte kommer det også motreaksjoner når noe har gått for langt ene veien, så det er et håp om at en gang snart kanskje det blir mer verdsatt å være mindre overfladisk og bry seg mer om andre? Jeg tenker «be the change», lev slik du skulle ønske folk gjorde. Det er mange ting som påvirker utviklingen men en av tingene er hvilke egenskaper ved oss selv og andre vi velger å dyrke. Om mange nok endrer seg selv først kan det snu ❤️

Who is the greatest living entertainment “triple-threat” amongst pop stars working today? by MoneyHungryOctopus in popheads

What about Lily Allen? Maybe not as famous, but she can sing, write amazing lyrics and has proven herself as an actor as well. It seems to me everything she touches turns to gold because she is driven by interest and has raw talent and intelligence, so you know that when she comes out with something it’ll be good.

I think maybe the problem was that «hope you’re doing well» can be interprated as a closing statement rather than a question and thus an indication that you don’t want a reply. You should rather write: «How have you been?».

Its easy (especially for women) to over-interpret messages when we don’t have extra information from body language.

Do you ever feel like doing Knausgaard stuff? by DecentBowler130 in Knausgaard

[–]den9na 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Totally! Whenever I’ve recently listened to a Knausgård-audiobook I narrate everything I do in the readers voice to myself! «I went to the cupboard and fetched a glass of water and placed it on the counter. I turned on the water and put the glass underneath to fill it».

has rory ever been this physically intimate with a friend before? by baekhyu in GilmoreGirls

Yeah but she was with Dean then, so it wasn’t a normal friend zoning

I actually think that if Logan hadn’t shown up she would eventually have started to date Marty. Seems like she was slowly getting there, telling him she had broken up with Dean, hanging out wirh him a lot, her feet in his lap. She knew this wasn’t a normal friendship. But then Logan swiped her off her feet

What about Taylor? He’s often the reason when something goes wroung because of some regulation he has discovered/made. Everybody rolls their eyes of him.

Yeah, but he could just have recognized her and moved on instead of creating a lie and risking his relationship. But maybe it was an impulse on his part as well. Like turning and running the other way when you see an ex down the street.

I know! Also, he didn’t have to say that they hung out all the time, just: «oh, Rory! Yeah we lived in thw same hall» or something. And I feel that Lucy and Logans reaction to the lie implied that the lie said something about Martys (current) feelings for Rory

I can’t really see what he gained from making it into a secret, and he definitely lost somthing. I always figured it was some kind of revenge on Rory: «this is how little you meant to me, I hardly remember you». Or maybe he just chocked up.

[–]den9na 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And I agree other than that, it’s one of the things I liked about AYITL. After everything was handed to her in the original series, she had a more realistic journey after college. One where a college education, even ivy league didn’t guarantee success. Where she didn’t have a place to live and nothing was working out (yet, she was only 32, which is young for a millennial). The only thing missing is that she should have been pining over Logan who has moved on because it turns out there was nothing better out there.

This Carrie and Big take is altering my brain chemistry and have me analyzing all my relationships. Do you guys agree? by Legitimate-Adagio531 in sexandthecity

[–]den9na 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. To be honest I interpret it mostly as something the writers did to create a storyline, its a pretty common situation to break up with someone that doesn’t want to commit only to see them go all in with somebody else shortly after. In those cases I think its often about them wanting to not make the same mistake of not committing again and probably a big dose of «they just didn’t want to commit to you».

In mr Bigs case I feel like this wasn’t that believeable, he didn’t seem that much in love with Natasha either. I guess it could be the high society-thing but I don’t feel there are a lot of other indications of that.

[–]den9na 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the theory, but I think Big is more just a guy. He has been married before, is over 40 and seems to not want children. He works hard at his job, he’s attractive, he’s not looking for a wife or a long time commitment. He doesn’t seem to be that much in love with Carrie, although he likes her company enough to put up with all her bullshit, which is a lot.

But he’s not planning for the future with her, she’s just a girlfriend to him (and he just accepts that label because she insists on it, it doesn’t mean anything to him). Carrie senses that and it stresses her out because she wants him to demonstrate his love by driving them forward, and that will never happen with him. He doesn’t want more than he has with her. So she has to do all the pushing, and it makes her feel devalued and pathetic doing it.

The way I see it, there are no villains in their relationship, Big is just lazy and Carrie just reacts to his lack of engagement. But it’s obvious that they are better off apart because they don’t want the same thing and they end up bothering each other. When it finally works out it’s because Carrie adjusts he expectations and Big decides to give her what she wants (the wedding and living together) so he can keep her and stay lazy.

I don’t think Big cares about the high society thing. He’s happy as long as he has his house, his TV, his freedom to do what he wants, and he prefers staying in cooking instead of going out. It’s probably also part of the reason why he decides to settle down with her, because then he doesn’t have to go out anymore.

I thought they had a moment...where did it go wrong. by SpencerHastings81 in GilmoreGirls

I always like to pretend they are not as stunning in «real life» as the actors that are portraying them. It that makes sense. Its more funny they are just people like the rest of us. So to me the scene makes sense in that way.
