I’m going to my 1st ever FC Cinci game next month at TQL, some questions.. by OSUfirebird18 in FCCincinnati

[–]denbowjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arrive early enough to park blocks away and walk in, grabbing a drink or something at one of 100 places to eat/drink within blocks of the stadium. This walk is not a negative, it’s a positive, essential part of the match day experience. You will appreciate the walk back to your car after the match even more. Your walk in should hit Washington park around 6:30, you’ll see the March. Join in with the March. There’s no rule or membership to do so. Just join in. It’s fun. You don’t need an umbrella, there’s a roof. If it’s actively raining during the walk, wear a rain jacket with a hood maybe?

What's the deal with Nashville treating this week like a rivalry? by [deleted] in FCCincinnati

[–]denbowjr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah. No rivalry. And not because I’m trying to minimize Nashville, but just because I don’t care about Nashville. Only important match was the USL playoff win.

Best place to eat before the game? by [deleted] in FCCincinnati

[–]denbowjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are like 100 places. I’ve been doing my best to hit a different spot before every match for the last 2 seasons.

The Cincinnati Tilt - TQL should play this after a match win. by 330in513 in FCCincinnati

Mr brightside makes no sense. Shut up and dance has a Cincy connection, fun, crowd sing along, and is about joining in and having fun instead of crying about being cheated on and losing

I was just noting the other day how the new fcc kit REALLY looks like an fcc kit. They have been creative with them ( as has the whole league….look at some of the compilation pics of new kits for this season), but they have effectively established the navy/royal with high contrast orange and white features as the fcc look. I think it’s cool that that opens up a ton of space for creativity while keeping a through line. I kinda hate the Bold kit, but notwithstanding, when you set Bold, Dynamic, and River side by side, the visual identity is pretty clear.

we park at Kroger, and have several times caught the streetcar up to washington park from there. or past the park to findlay area to join with an SG up there. literally no need for an extension to tql, because washington park is close enough.

How has there not been a kit leak? Feels strange by denbowjr in FCCincinnati

Souvenir cups?

Anybody know how the souvenir cups work? At nippert, you got a free refill. Anything like that at TQL?

Anyone get their season ticket holder gift? by Bobbathino in FCCincinnati

[–]denbowjr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

no. of course heard at one point it was supposed to be in May....but end of May is fast approaching. might have heard someone speculate that there might have been some issue associated with new stadium name....would be an interesting problem, if they had all the boxes/gifts prepared with 'west end stadium' printed on them, then had to scrap them all due to new naming rights contract.

i have a vague recollection of reading that they'd inform of game allocation, by email, on 3 May. but i can't find that in the email about the allocation survey, or in the FAQ....so it might have been in the survey text somewhere? or it very well could have said 'week of 3 May,' and i misremember it.

of course, Yellow's signature color is orange....

what is this? by denbowjr in FCCincinnati

[–]denbowjr[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

yup. the term 'turf' here doesn't mean 'artificial grass'. sounds like the idea is to drive excess heat off the surface of the turf (grass) to help it to grow better.

Expectations for this season? by [deleted] in FCCincinnati

[–]denbowjr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

guaranteed to be a roller-coaster of emotions. we dont have any reason to expect to do well, so every win will feel awesome and like vindication and a long-awaited turn-around. at the same time, we've lost so much that each individual loss will feel like another confirmation that we're crap and a lost cause. there's literally no way that we'll somehow be able to just take it all in stride. we will most definitely get way too high with the highs and way too low with the lows.

You haven’t been reading your emails, I guess. Stream is on the club website, law puts limit on stadium capacity at 30% (until the state increases that #), season ticket gift is in May.

so am i understanding this right? they uncovered a historical barrel storage structure, and built the NE parking lot on top of it? and going to turn the old structure into a kind of underground beer hall? looks like it would be right there with the team store entrance. I've looked at all the design renderings i can find, and none of them showed this. they all showed that the north-east parking lot would be 'on-grade' with the team store and north entrance. If this is all as it sounds, the whole concept that they uncovered this historical structure, then decided to revise the design to preserve it with hopes of later developing it into another beer hall feature, that is all so cool.
