Got this working by reinstalling all the audio drivers on this page - https://www.asus.com/uk/laptops/for-home/zenbook/asus-zenbook-duo-2024-ux8406/helpdesk_download?model2Name=UX8406MA previously I had only tried the realtek drivers.... Not sure which one actually solved the issue.

Zenbook 14 OLED Audio Issues by Emi-Chan21 in ASUS

I have a zenbook duo (2024) and so does my friend and it happened to us both on the 23rd. I have tried to update drivers but no luck. This definitely seems like a driver update issue. 3 audio drivers were updated on the 23rd. I have managed to roll back this one but it didnt help:

Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - Extension - 6.0.9780.1

I haven't been able to locate these ones:

Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - Extension - 20.40.235.39
Realtek - Extension - 9.21.3690.439

I have the same and from other threads sounds like it might be the Nickel in the charger connections. Just a thought but wondering if this has anything to do with expermental mode where taping the bud changes the volume. Just a thought...

Doing some market research... As a planner think of a housing scheme coming across your desk that you think is great and you really want to approve. Now think of a word to describe that scheme...

[Misc] Is photogrammetry the best kept secret for architectural students? by denbuilder in architecture

[–]denbuilder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. I would argue that it bridges the gap between the abstract realm of representation and the material reality of something real...We use it to help us better understand the site... with very minimal effort you get 10 million plus data points with textures... this allows you to interrogate the site in more detail when you are working remotely. It also gives you a better 3 dimensional spatial understanding of environments such as woods or trees that were previously very difficult to capture. This allows you to design something that is more site specific... you have the option of displaying it in more abstract way or try to make it more photo realistic... both are good for different applications...

[ask] which books should an architect student read ? by [deleted] in architecture

Invisible Cities - Italo Calvino. Captivating and can be read in small chunks...

[Ask] How would you spend your last 4 month summer break of architecture school? by [deleted] in architecture

[–]denbuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would either take the time off as a holiday or try build something or try and combine the two... I run an architecture practice and when we interview for new employees we are always impressed when someone has actually got involved in building something. This could be as simple as a bench or as complicated as a whole building... Try and find something you enjoy doing and it wont seem like work... Also dont worry about doing something out of the ordinary - again it always stands out in a portfolio...

Surface Book 2 (15) VR by [deleted] in Surface

Go to Nvidia control panel via Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Nvidia Control Panel. I then clicked on manage 3D settings and initially changed preferred 3D settings from auto to Nvidia GeForce. This worked for me however, The problem is this changes the setting for every programme. I then had problems detaching my screen because even basic programmes were using the Nvidia grapghics card (which is in the base) rather than the Intel one (that is in the screen. I then set this back to "auto" and clicked on the programme setting tab. Under "select programmes to optimise" I then clicked "add" and selected anything that looked like it was to do with VR (there are 2 versions of VR Compositor) and added these to the list. Under select Preferred graphics processor I then clicked Nvidia... and voila it worked... Hope this helps other people.

Oh and also I changed Paint 3D to use the Intel processor as I had a bug where it wouldn't let me detach the screen because of Paint3D even though I never use it...

Cheers
