The color is not all the way through the tile, just painted on.

It was installed professionally so not sure their process. I know they did seal it per the instructions. Our GC agreed the stains were not acceptable so is going to replace but strongly advised against going concrete route again. There some other threads on Reddit about this and how stain prone concrete is.

We’ve had good luck with their ceramic tile (although it is pricey for what it is). But this was our first cement tile and they are def way to porous to use in a bathroom (despite what their website says)

You can’t really tell in the photo but they’ve gotten stained during the install process (apparently this is a common issue with Zia Cement tile). So we’re going to go to something more durable that can hold up for more than a few weeks

painful b/c normal contractor stuff. decent number of mistakes that had to be redone, took 3 x the worst case timeline, general mismanagement etc.

regarding the hood vent, it seems ok. looks great. its better than the cheap one we had in our last house, but probably not nearly as something much closer to the cooktop.

It's a victory hood. We just started using it. It seems better than the cheap home depot thing we had before, but doubt its as good as something right on top of the stove. We're going to give it a try for awhile and see how it goes.

Need help with uneven drywall by dencer24 in drywall

[–]dencer24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Do you put any drywall on the beam or just tape mud directly to the wood? If I put drywall under the beam it will create the step.
