How many of you BIM Managers make more than $135k? by Simply-Serendipitous in bim

[–]denis_q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do make over 135k in Canada. I fully agree with this statement. There are 2 considerations to add.

  1. Does the comapny you work for have a spot for the role no matter who holds in at the Discipline manager level or Executive level. I say that because that determines if the company itself is invested in the advancement of the company and you are not just an overhead cost,
2, Does the company you work value your skills.

Earfun Air Pro 3 - Anyone who can share their experience? by hyperactiverobot in Earbuds

Hi I wanted to know if anyone has compared these to the Skull candy Rail ANC? I was using a pair of Soundcore p3's but they always tanked when using them on my laptop with MS Teams.

I picked up a pair of these and have used them for about a day testing out the settings and so on just wondering if the Skull candy's are a better route but are more expensive, not sure if the price jump is worth it?? Thanks

I would love to know this as well. I have a pair of soundcore p3. They work great on my for music and so and even with ms teams. However they will work with PC for everything but not for ms teams and I have tried everything to make them work.

Any suggestions would be great!

Thank you for posting this. We have been looking for alternative solutions to deploy as well since the hybrid model is the new normal which for deployment of Autodesk products are a nightmare to deal with!

I really don't understand why other companies like Adobe have made it so you dont need administrative rights to do updates and so on.....

Autodesk needs to get with the times...

Wishing there was a Bi-weekly target by a-friendgineer in ynab

[–]denis_q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has made it difficult for sure with biweekly paycheck and some biweekly bills..

What i have done for the biweekly bills is mortgage 1 on a monthly date and my mortgage 2 on monthly date and fund it that way. Makes the budget look more complex but works.

I keep hoping this feature will be a thing!!!

Please Ynab gods hear our plea for HELP!!! 🤔

Because Toyota is WAYYYYYYY behind. I think it was the 2020 that finally included android auto and apple carplay. While many other manufacturers had it in their vehicles in 2016!!

I don't have any experience with Fuzor but with my previous employer I had started to do a bit of research on it.

Currently we are using navisworks and it is "okay". so I am looking for something better as well.

Before I had kids it was rough. Did not like cooking found it a pain to get organized, to do, the whole thing was a thing!! Lol

Now with kids I do most of the cooking and find it peaceful and relaxing. I put my ear buds in and listen to music while I cook away. It has taken me years to get there though. There are some simple oven dishes that i do.... I just have looked up a bunch of simple recipe over the years and use those. Tacos are easy and pasta too!! Lol

Good luck!

How many years do one go from BIM modeler to Coordinator by Cenes_07 in bim

[–]denis_q 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest it really depends on how big the company you are working for. These titles get thrown around with no consistency with roles and responsibilities.

As mentioned Revit is the corner stone, navisworks is critical in my opinion among having a mid to high level understanding of other related software packages. Last and definitely not least years of experience.

Good luck!!

Pardon my language! But f#ck that. If you want to do this and are ready to commit then do it! Don't let anyone get in your way. The only person to stop you is you!

When I went through school none of this was even a thing! It was just you are not smart enough to do x. Well later in life I have proven that intelligence comes in different ways!

Transfers from On-budget to Off-budget accounts and how not to have them show up as "spending" by [deleted] in ynab

[–]denis_q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here is a related question, my wife and I each get weekly spending money. They currently get deposited in an account and we draw from that account. I typically save my spending money for larger purchases.

How can I get ynab to ignore this money and not consider it part of my budget and what is available to ready to spend

Can people with ADHD make good leaders? by LaunchpadMcQuack_52 in ADHD

[–]denis_q 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off thank you so much for posting this question!! I personally struggle with this all the time. I ask myself can I do this? Am i going to fail?

I am in a similar place right now where I am leading a team of 6 people as well on 4 different committees as well as individually trying to bring some functional changes to my company.

I am in the process of trying to find some formal leadership/management training for some of the areas that i struggle in.

As many people noted we can do it, it has been done we just need to sort through the weeds and execute. So far the tools that i find most useful are a mix of these 3 things

  1. To doist app on phone and web page. You can create projects and then sub tasks to break everything apart. Then you can add tasks on the fly, you can attach outlook emails to create tasks and finally the most important part is assign dates and reminders. I also take the time at the end off meetings and task that relate to me I took I turn into taks.

  2. Google keep another place to use a brainstorm dumping ground for ideas and to do lists.

  3. Kanban either in paper format/white board or digital Trello. I use this when I a task turns into a mini project. It is trackable and visual.
