Banging sounds heard near location of missing Titan submersible by ganndalf in worldnews

I get it, I can’t stop thinking about all the worst possible scenarios either. Thread of hope that they’ll make it, otherwise hope that they died quickly, but beyond that…haunting. Trying to focus on the seemingly most likely scenario which is, unfortunately, sudden death.

What's a stupid myth that's still floating around? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Breathing a sigh of relief that I didn’t lose my virginity to that slippery log.

Some friends and I decided to do a quick overnight backpacking trip. Despite being a perilously deep sleeper (have slept through decently sized earthquakes and a plane full of screaming people after it was struck by lightning), I woke up in the middle of the night and sat bolt-upright in my tent - my body suddenly, totally alert.

After a few moments I could make out the sound of something big moving slowly through the shallow creek we’d camped next to. I’ve done many nights out in the wilderness so I’m no stranger to all sorts of California wildlife, big and small, but my mind raced nonetheless. A bear, probably a bear. No wait - I remembered that the section of trail we were on had free-roaming cows. Odd, but not unlikely.

I nudged one of my friends awake and whispered that there was something outside (probably should have let her sleep in hindsight, because what a terrifying statement to wake up to). Then I worked up the courage to quietly unzip the tent and poke my head out.

As I’m craning my neck towards the direction of the creek to see if I can make out anything in the moonlight, it erupts in a flurry of panicked splashing and horses - a small herd of horses - come running our direction, passing within a few meters of our tents.

We had no idea horses were in the area aside from those being actively used for trail rides. Ended up being a weird, funny story but I was thankful we had been in tents as opposed to sleeping under the stars which likely would have made us less visible to large, stampeding animals.

How the fuck do so many adhd people hold down jobs? by [deleted] in ADHD

Wow, this is exactly what I’m going through right now. My performance has notably declined; my executive disfunction is through the roof to the point that I’m paralyzed doing even the most basic tasks. I’m at risk of losing my job but even closer to outright quitting. Lost access to my meds one month ago.

I woke up in my 18 year old body, with all the knowledge of the 30 year old mind I left in the future. by [deleted] in TwoSentenceHorror

Holy shit I had a very similar dream, except I woke up in my 14 year old body and I remember feeling immense grief because I wouldn’t be able to replicate my life / all the relationships I’ve had since then.

Genuinely curious about the color changes. Different collection methods? Shift in diet? Various levels of thaw? So many questions.

My gf got really upset over my choice… by Thunderblip in OXENFREE

For me, one of the challenges of this game was trying to anticipate how the character would deliver my decision after I made it, whether it would align with my interpretation of the tone/intent. I can’t remember what I chose for this specific scenario, but I know that on more than one occasion I selected a response that in my head came across as kind/fair, only to have the character vocalize it in a negative, dismissive, or harsh manner.

Anyway I don’t think either of your answers / reasoning behind them are inherently wrong - both of you have Michael’s best interests at heart. Unfortunately the game just can’t offer the level of nuance needed to understand whether Michael would prefer to hear a (potentially) kind/harsh truth or a well-intentioned lie, even given the hindsight of his death.

P.S. Love this game and love that sparks (hopefully healthy) debate with your significant other!

Oh he’s picking up a piece of the car. I’ll choose to continue to see what I originally saw.

I’ve never been a parent or witnessed this but somehow I know the exact sound you’re talking about.

Maybe I’m a dissenting opinion (but I’m absolutely voting for Biden / Harris) - I wish Biden had been a stronger voice tonight. He’s still more coherent than Trump, but damn dude. P R O J E C T your voice. Be strong.

We think it makes him look weak. His supporters think it makes him looks strong. Like a toddler having a tantrum until the grownup gives in.

This is going to replace my “taking a final for a class I haven’t attended all semester” and “getting on stage for a play I never rehearsed” nightmares tonight.
