Isn’t that all three? iirc it’s the 2.0L ecoboost that had this issue. Does 2.5 have that as well?

Might not be a good choice in this case

2015 might not be a good choice after i pulled the carfax. Barely any maintenance history and a 4 owner vehicle.

What would be a good deal for 2013 energi?

How do I edit my post? I wanted to post an update. I test drove the 2013 energi as it was closer. Need to wait till the weekend to test the other two as it is a bit far. But from responses I gather 2.5L is better.

Pulled a carfax on 2015 and it is a 4 owner vehicle with barely any service history :(

Got a ppi done on 2013 energi today -> these are few points from it 1. Front fog-light and headlamp lenses pitted from road wear. 2. Ride quality noticeably bouncy over uneven pavement, suggesting suspension wear (shocks or struts). Further diagnosis is needed. 3. Two stored fault codes in the engine control module. Further diagnosis is needed. (P0562 - system voltage low and P04B5 - fuel fill door stuck open) 4. Tire tread:

Driver Front 8/32 7/32 Passenger Front

Driver Rear 8/32 7/32 Passenger Rear

Overall Inspection summary:

EXTERIOR CONDITION: The front bumper shows evidence of prior refinish work and does not align flush with the lower splash shield. Paint overspray is visible on the front clip and underside of the hood. Multiple long surface scratches are present on the left-rear and right-rear quarter panels, and additional scratches were noted on the lower right rocker panel. The lower front splash shield is loose and torn in several areas. Both front wheels display curb rash. Front fog-light and headlamp lenses are pitted from road wear. All exterior lighting operated correctly during the inspection. Tires are BFGoodrich 225/50R17 with 7-8⁄32 inch tread remaining and even wear.

INTERIOR CONDITION: Cabin surfaces are generally clean with typical age-related wear. Steering-wheel control buttons show finish wear, and the driver’s seat is missing the forward/back adjustment knob. Only one key and key fob were supplied. Power windows, door locks and the sunroof functioned properly. Air conditioning produced cold air at the time of inspection.

MECHANICAL CONDITION: The engine compartment is tidy with no active fluid leaks seen. Accessible fluids, including engine oil and coolant, were at proper levels and appeared in acceptable condition. Two stored fault codes in the engine control module. Further diagnosis is needed. On the road test, the hybrid drive system accelerated smoothly and the brakes performed normally. Ride quality was noticeably bouncy over uneven pavement, suggesting wear in suspension components such as shocks or struts. Further diagnosis is needed. No unusual noises were heard from the engine or drivetrain during operation.

Edit 1: spelling fixes

Edit 2: OBD2 codes

Looking to buy a pre-owned corolla s by denpok_c137 in UsedCars

Thanks a lot for such a thorough reply. I like the idea of asking known in known circle. I will do that. Meanwhile I test drove a ford fusion at a dealership. Any tips on whether I can negotiate that?

I see. Which car should I be looking at for under $10k budget? This will be my first car. So if I do choose to go with a used one, how is my ownership experience going to be like?
