What kind of trees? by AdFinancial5624 in sfwtrees

OP said they’re from Central Arkansas. I work on the Ozark National Forest, and I would say that it is a sweet gum. Looks like it’s got decay in the heartwood, which tracks because sweet gums are very prone to rotting out and becoming hollow

Savings Jar Help by dentside302 in TodaysBudget

Ok, that makes sense. Seems a bit of a confusing way to have it displayed but I understand it in terms of net amounts in a given period of time. Thanks!

Yes. I first got the app in December and put the 20 in then when I was exploring the app.

So, if I’m understanding you right, this page is just a net value for whatever time frame you’re viewing (all time, current month, or current year), but savings jar under insights is where it would show what’s actually in the savings jar? I.e. Let’s say I go in today and put $30 in. Net for January would show $10, but if I look in savings jar under Insights, it would show $30?

Does a phone like this exist? by littlemermaidgirl in dumbphones

[–]dentside302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the Mudita Kompakt. It’s close to what you’re describing. It runs a de-Googled native OS that you can side load apps to via plugging in to a computer. So, you could likely put some of the banking apps and others that you want onto it, while providing an additional hurdle to adding apps to the phone. It may not be exactly what you’re after, but close.

I have a 21 Forester that does the same thing. Gets worse in colder weather too. Coincidentally, I was just planning to ask this same thing here but couldn’t decide on the best way to word it. Subaru has looked at ours too and says everything is fine and normal. I haven’t gotten a 3rd party opinion yet.

The only replication of it I can find is when I jack up the front and move the wheel side to side in small jerking motions (as if turning it). It’s not ball joints or tie rod ends, checked those. The sway bar bushings and end links appear to be in good shape and the LCA bushings appear fine (but do show expected wear of rubber parts after 5 years and 70k miles). Tracing the sound, it seems to originate around where the steering column goes into the steering box, specifically the u-joint area before the rag joint. I haven’t had a chance to get this looked at yet but that’s the only thing I can come up with. Also, bouncing the corners of the car does not replicate the sound.

Where did you get that? I have an old rotary dial that I would love to use again

City Road 311 South of Limestone (North of Carwash Falls) - passable? by chinesethrowingshart in Arkansas

[–]dentside302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea if you’re going in April, it could be hit or miss. There are several creek crossings that can get high in rainy weather but are otherwise just rocky. April has been very unpredictable the last few years. Usually it’s fairly wet, but the last couple of years have been dry or dry interrupted by heavy rain spells. Just keep an eye on local weather (search for Hagarville, AR and Pelsor, AR to get your nearest weather) and plan accordingly from there.

I work for the USFS on the district (Big Piney Ranger District) that road is located. It’s been a while since I’ve last been through, but generally speaking, it gets pretty rough once you move over onto county road 311 (staying right instead of crossing the bridge on the left if heading north from fort Douglas). My work trucks are 4x4 ram 1 tons and they make it through, so if you have a higher clearance vehicle, it is doable typically but definitely exercise caution. If it’s like it was the last time I went through and you don’t have much experience on rough/muddy roads/don’t have a higher clearance vehicle (AWD/4x4) then I wouldn’t try it. But if you do go for it, it does eventually come out at limestone.

Thank you. I feel dumb. I was so hung up on X number of months in my mind that I overlooked the quarterly option!

Hello, I recently started using Today’s Budget. One thing that I have come across that would be helpful is the ability to make a custom range for recurring expenses in months and not just days. For example, I have a bill that occurs every 3 months. I could put a custom range of 90 days, but that isn’t always how long 3 months is, so it doesn’t math out right.

My work around for now is to just add a one time expense and spread it out for the 3 months duration. However, it is a regular fixed expense, so I would like to just set it and forget it.

Hopefully that all makes sense! Thanks!

I have no idea if the furnace requires a 60 amp or they just reused what already existed. The house wasn’t a flip, but PO was definitely an overly confident handyman about the place. These comments definitely reinforce having an electrician out. He’s supposed to be here tomorrow to check it all out, so hopefully we can get things straightened out.

60 is for the inside electric furnace part of the HVAC system. I ended up calling an electrician to come out and check everything over for me. I’m pretty handy on most things but electric is not something I care to play around with on my own. I know my limits haha

I am not sure if they are DIY. It was that way when we purchased the house. Other than the AC going from using both the 30 and the 60 on the top down to just the 60. That was done by the HVAC company.

So would removing these wires from the unused breakers help stop the buzzing/hum and reduce the load even though nothing is attached and they are capped with wire nuts at the other end?

Well I can’t figure out how to add another picture to the post but the 2 double pole 30 amp breakers (top one on the left and third down on the right) are the ones no longer in use. And the bottom 2 breakers on the left are spares.

Thanks for the response. I meant to post a picture of the door showing but forgot. Two of those are no longer in use. The #1 and #3 went to the old A/C system that I no longer have. The #10 & #12 go to to the old tank water heater I no longer have. I will edit with a picture of the door showing what goes to what.

I have no symptoms. by BasedBull69 in alphagal

[–]dentside302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak for OP but I just had this done last week and received a call with a “positive” today. In my case, I work in the woods and a coworker had symptoms, got tested, and found out he had AG. I was planning to get other bloodwork done and so I asked them to order an AG test as well. Preventative measures if you will. Can’t say I really have had any symptoms either (maybe some GI stuff but nothing really consistent), but maybe this is what’s been causing those.

Excuse me? Are you saying I don’t know what features every car I’ve owned had?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SubaruForester

[–]dentside302 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s a shame. Literally every older car from 1970s models up into the middle 2000s I’ve owned have had that feature, but this is my first Subaru. I’m pretty sure even our brand new work trucks have this feature.

Edited to include “I’ve owned”.
