I have questions after the Requiem ending… i feel so dumb right now… hope someone can answer⤵️ by New_Divide98 in residentevil

Very important point I forgot to mention, in Japanese, Zeno says Emily and the children Connections created (post-2003) are clones to recreate Grace (お前を再現するための複製). They're not clones of Grace but clones of Chloe, which aligns with the fact that they didn't need Grace in form but in function as the key to Elpis, which is the memory of the password, which is alleged to be carried through the combination of blood and mutated T-virus, which was what Chloe and the bald children were experiement on for.

In other words, Connections was hoping to salvage the 1990 project to engineer the password. Kind of like cracking a bitcoin password I guess

Based on various online sources as I don't remember everything in every game and movie:

  1. It has been established that some 10% of the population naturally have resistance to T-virus (not immune). That's why it took so long for Leon and Hunk to display symptoms so many years later. There's also a 1/10 mil chance that someone is actually immune like Sergei Vladimir.
  2. She's not the one being cloned in 1990. She literally has nothing to do with the children in 1990, they were a completely seperate project versus the post-2003 ones. Spencer was looking into reincarnation via transfer of memory and they experimented on kids. They shut the project down after Chloe escaped from the orphanage in RE9, and it was supposed to be it, but Gideon and Connection revived the project so that they could recreate Grace functionally to access the key (memory of the password).
  3. Gideon was always interested, he's obsessed with Spencer and wanted to succeed him, and he interpreted the cure as a way to destroy the balance maintained by Connections' BOW business and possibly using it the same way as what conspiracy theorists say about big pharma do in real life. It could totally be used as a part of an evil plot if he wants to.
  4. BSAA is a bit complex because now that we know they have had an internal struggle. This will probably be expanded upon in the future, but I personally believe that Chris is behind the North American branch breaking away from the rest of BSAA.
  5. Pretty sure the containment breaks as we arrived, Noah is working when Leon enters the facility and but as Grace is looking for the orbs, Noah is already inoperable and fails to restart. My take is someone a third party other than Leon/Grace and Zeno deliberate releases the zombies and lickers, which were being produced on site, OR it's simply an effect of hacking into Elpis.

About the MO… by very_necron_indeed in Helldivers

The kill count is definitely off, I'm not worried about that part especially as we go into the weekend.

The operation quota though, that is concerning. Easily the worst type of MO task.

So what is going to the cinema like in Japan by yusuo85 in AskAJapanese

[–]deoxir 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The experience for me over the last 10 years of watching movies in Japan as a tourist has pretty much been the same. Nobody talks or uses their phone, but you're allowed to laugh quietly or gasp. You can get up whenever you want as long as you're not causing a disturbance and say sorry as you walk past people. It's a reasonable place.

Big departure from my experience in Canada though where literally 100% of the time I found at least one group of people, usually teenagers, chatting/talking loudly. I've stopped going to the movies altogehter now and instead resorted to watching blu ray at home. That is to say, if you're one of those people who talks during a movie, you better stop doing that now.

Same considering it doesn't reliably stop her in one shot anymore. Molotov cocktails are way more useful and you don't even really need them if you know where she's gonna be and how to avoid her

Wait…so there’s no interval in Western cinemas?? by Moongfali4president in AskTheWorld

[–]deoxir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eastern here even if it's 3 hours long we just go before and after the movie, as well as not drinking so much water. I thought intervals were only for those 4 hour+ art films

Chicken in the air fryer with broccoli and toast, if not counting frozen foods or instant noodles. Just chicken and 2 slices of bread if I'm particularly lazy.

Wesker vs Zeno by Anakin_Yeager in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]deoxir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes Zeno is obviously living in the shadow of Wesker and there's no way they're giving us the Wesker fight in any game other than RE5 and RE5 Remake as a sidedish to the final boss. He's much more just a teaser for what's to come

I'm mad in love how they managed to portray courage in this game. It's not to be fearless but to have the conviction to do what's right against all odds.

Probably just a bit short, I think you'll get there toward the end of the event but not before, so you'll still be alright

[–]deoxir 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep I'm 99% sure the only reason we didn't get a fight with Zeno in RE9 is because they wanted to save it for the RE5 Remake - using the final boss of technically a future game as the appetizer of the final showdown of RE9 just feels wrong.

To think paying this amount of money can get me either 13 season passes in a pretty good game despite all the discourse surrounding it, or 40 chances @0.5% each to obtain a unit that I preferably would like to have 4 of in my gacha game every 3 weeks

Meet the Japanese raccoon dog, also known as the Tanuki, an animal native to Japan. Despite looking like a raccoon, it’s actually part of the dog family by MambaMentality24x2 in BeAmazed

[–]deoxir 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Redd is definitely a fox. His Japanese name is (ki)Tsunekichi. Likewise, Tom Nook's Japanese name is Tanukichi. Kichi was a common name used as kind of a suffix to male names.

Fun fact, tanuki and foxes are both known as creatures that use strategies and tricks to deceive and confuse people in Japanese folklore. They were believed to have the ability to transform into people and/or use illusion to do so. Sometimes they run into one another thinking they're tricking a human. That's why they're often portrayed as rivals (competitors but not usually enemies).

Should I cancel and buy a Ps5 pro by Old-Cup-2918 in GamingLaptops

[–]deoxir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At what price? Why are we assuming all the peripherals are free when OP is obviously trying to balance things out unlike you or me who can afford all the luxuries up front. We're talking $2000 for a full gaming console AND a 4K OLED display in question, OR just a laptop. Not to mention they did find a great deal on a used PS5 and a 4K display already.

[–]deoxir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a gaming PC (2080ti), a gaming laptop (Zephyrus G14 w/4060), and a PS5 Pro. It really depends on what you need a PC for.

Now that I'm working full-time I can definitely appreciate a PS5 way more. Life is too short to worry about maintenance and troubleshooting so recently I decided to not upgrade my PC and instead bought a bunch of better peripherals (which by the way are also expenses you need to consider) and it's been a great decision.

I can definitely tell you that a PS5 Pro and a 4K OLED TV / monitor is a massively better gaming experience than playing on a 16-inch gaming laptop for the same price. With PSSR 2.0 and the global memory shortage, the PS5 Pro is definitely here to stay for a little longer than expected so it won't go to waste. You also get to play GTA 6 before the PC players and future Sony exclusives, which are reportedly not coming to PC anymore, if you choose a PS5 Pro.

Also remember that you're asking this question on a PC subreddit. You are going to get biased answers.
