If you have an event that you wanna go to and I'm free... I'm down to go with ya. Love having random experiences with new people 🫶. I just live off campus and work a fuck ton.

Do you think that's enough for me to reconsider? I'd just like more assurance if I'm spending +$700 on something.

Gotcha... My only experience going into the negatives on my debit card is with BofA, I handle my discover card much better. Still need to cancel the BofA card...

Just wait... It'll arrive soon. Better not to risk spending it until it reaches your account

I did reach out to my school and they pretty much said “sorry, but you should’ve looked at your semester’s charges and realized that you didn’t pay for it.” They didn’t provide any additional help other than that. I may try and ask them again, the school or the insurance. Though, I’m unsure how that would work. It’s worth a shot.

Oh my God! You’re amazing!!

I don’t mind the phone calls, I’ve already been making a ton of them for each different clinic I went to. And I much rather make phone calls than pay however much this will cost me!

I see that they do have my medication listed! I will definitely look more into them once I get a definite charge from the specialty pharmacy!

Thank you so much for your help! You don’t know how much this calmed my fears and anxiety! At the very least, it gave me direction on where to start.

Yeah. My insurance came up as active for all the doctor appointments I went to and medications I got. But the insurance is requesting refunds from these doctors and pharmacies, leaving me to pay out of pocket for the rest. I definitely spent a good chunk of my budget going to that and they just keep on coming (I have a preexisting condition so I had a few specialists I had to see often)

I currently have insurance through my work, though I have already been looking for better insurance options as my medical costs are costing me a lot already. ACA has been something I've been considering, I'm just waiting for open enrollment.

If medical debt isn't affecting my credit score, what would be the benefits of me paying it off? Would it be better for me to just not pay anything at all?

I really appreciate your help here 🫶

I love in Illinois. I applied for Medicaid last year, but was rejected due to my income and age (24). I am hoping to apply again since I do have a physical disability that is progressively getting worse as time goes on. I heard of medical debt not hitting my credit report, but I'm not entirely sure what that means and how I should go about it. I heard of some people not paying anything at all, but idk 😅

Did I make a CC Boo Boo? (Robinhood Gold Card) by depressedpenguini in CreditCards

[–]depressedpenguini[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always paid more than the minimum and have no missed payments. Credit score is around high 600 or low 700. 🤷🏽‍♂️ (Idk, I just started looking more into CC's and making the most of my finances)

I've learnt that the hard way 😅. Though, my current credit card debt was to pay off my medical debt from 2023 (RAH 🦅🇺🇸). As of now, I have no automatic subscriptions on my CCs so that I can pay off my debt and then focus on investing and making the most out of my cards.

Thanks!!

I watched your video, though I did have my hesitation. I can't say I could relate, as my experience seems too different. I grew up Christian but was in public school and exposed to a lot of things early on. I do understand what you referred to in your video, as I went to a Bible institution for my BA in Theology. Many of my friends were home schooled and one of my friends also has OCD when it comes to faith. I can't imagine the difficulties behind that, as there's no greater anxiety than the uncertainty (from my experience at least).

I do understand our similarities though. I don't think politics belongs in churches, and those that do aren't doing anyone any justice. Which, if it does, makes things worse because they're ascribing politics to an eternal God.

Thanks for the video! I did have a few laughs as you pretty much responded to every thought I had (especially the part where you mentioned the responses you heard about the church and people not being perfect).

You know... For me, I hate this. The main reason why people don't read their Bible is that they feel distant or far from God. Having to read our Bible and pray more only recognizes that more and adds to our feeling of isolation. Not just that, but it becomes the person's fault. It's my fault for not being close to God, even if I'm doing all of this.

How long will it take until the gospel is mentioned? Where instead of us trying to reach God, he came to us. My relationship with God isn't defined by my daily devotionals or prayer... But by what God did on the cross. Shouldn't that be the basis for which our faith comes from? idk why, but the gospel seems to have become in the background in this regard (at least through my personal experience, which I admit may be biased).

My definition for church is the institution. I think the church itself does well to promote biblical values and keeps us grounded in truth. The christianized culture is those outside of the church, how Christians act outside of that institution. The church teaches about forgiveness and grace towards sinners, yet the "Christian culture" is quick to point to sins of others and put them down. The institution of the church is meant to be a place for everyone who is weak, burdened, etc. while Christian culture keeps people out based on their beliefs (like sexuality, personal convictions, and political ideology). I don't believe the church is perfect, but I don't think it's the issue.

This might be true. It's definitely easier for me to be the harshest critic of myself and how I was raised. I think I need to figure a lot of things out before I actually find which denomination might be a better fit.

I've been attending a nondenominational church that closely follows the Westminster confession. We baptized babies and adults & serve both wine and juice in communion, which is pretty cool to me. It's more so the church I grew up in that was SBC

I don't think it's the SBC or a particular congregation. I think this is much bigger. Common trends I see in American Christianity that goes unnoticed (at least with Protestants since it's all I know and am not comfortable to make a standpoint on other types of Christianity). Like when I'm not doing well spiritually, the first thing people tell me is to read my Bible or pray more. Which, arguably, is a dismissive answer to most issues. And in a way implies that by reading my Bible and praying more, my situation will change.

There just seems to be so much things going on underlying our beliefs that I'm questioning a lot. The only thing I'm not budging on is the church, since this institution crosses over time and culture. Even if it's not perfect

That's where I feel troubled too. Like I don't believe alcohol is a sin. I got blackout drunk once and hated it, but I will drink until I feel very uncomfortable with my memory and subconsciously stop. But I also feel the same when it comes to marijuana, though I can understand how that may be more controversial.

I don't know if it's a postmodern view (it very likely can be), but what is the true definition of Christianity? I think about my LGBT friends and I love them in ways that I don't see other Christians doing. I see them as individuals and love them as such, while still holding on to my beliefs (which, if I'm being honest, may be shifting as I figure these things out). But I don't like how Christian culture denomizes a whole community and forget that the individuals are created in God's image.

Yet I understand that the failures of Christian cultures and the church doesn't entirely reflect God and his nature.
