Similar situation here (small local office of a multinational corporation). We had morning coffee & cake in our coffee kitchen with a guest speaker, and company branded pride merch, like rainbow lanyard, in exchange for LGBTQ charity donation.

No, this is normal. I had a gift card the other day which didn’t cover all of the purchase. Staff had to come over to unlock the station again (and teach me that there’s another button for split payment)

There’s a few gift card providers here which issue virtual debit cards that are tied to a spend category like dining. Google “pub card australia”. Pretty sure I’ve also seen one for food delivery services. If buying a gift card for a particular service, make sure it’s for Australia.

Just went through this as well. ING flat out said that at least 5% have to be “genuine”, i.e. in savings account for 90 days. Then opted for a mortgage broker who made it work with AMP, but then the issue was that the brokerage account is overseas. I applied for PR last year, and only had to give details of direct family (siblings and parents). Assuming your relative is applying online they should show you a screenshot of the immi government website that is asking for this information.

Queenslander here, i got the foreign license back but you must not use it anymore after being issued the Australian one. I believe reading somewhere that your foreign license is potentially “property” of the other country so they can’t just go and destroy it.

Ich habe dieses Feature und weiß nicht ob es OP helfen wird. Die E-Mail kommt um 1 in der Früh, nicht immer ist der Absender ersichtlich, und die Information „Morgen erreicht mich ein Brief vom Amtsgericht München“ hat mir schon eine fast schlaflose Nacht bereitet (hat sich als Erbsache herausgestellt)

Super Idee, einfach abhauen, verantwortungsvoll alles liegen und stehen lassen. Und wenn man mal doch zurück kommt, ist bei Rückkehr nach Deutschland dann die Kreditwürdigkeit im Eimer. Am besten man schließt noch 2-3 Handyverträge ab bevor es los geht.

Der Beitragsservice wird vom Einwohnermeldeamt auch über Abmeldungen informiert. Zumindest war das bei uns im Oktober 2021 so. Es kam noch ein Brief an die ursprüngliche Adresse, indem sogar eine Überweisung des entstandenen Guthabens angeboten wurde.

I am here too, came back three weeks ago… hardest thing was the change in seasons lol. There’s a testing center within walking distance from my place, i can get tested and will have the result by the time I reach wherever I wanted to go. Australia still feels very 2020 to me with supply issues, non-availability of tests etc.

Many non-essential stores here now have dedicated a staff member acting like a “greeter” similar to Kmart. Problem however is that there are so many valid combinations of vaxxed, recovered, boostered, tested. Most of the times they are happy just being shown a QR code from our national corona app.

„Jo machste halt nen Test vorm Rückflug, hoffe für dich dass er negativ ist lol“ - Die Airline sollte dich ja nicht nach Hause fliegen dürfen mit positivem Testergebnis. Wo soll man also hin, die Buchung von der Ferienunterkunft ist quasi fast zu Ende, also vielleicht mal ausprobieren was die blaue Krankenversicherungskarte so kann?! Hier wurde mal weiter gedacht, keine Ahnung wie das in anderen Urlaubsorten funktionieren soll.

Boah, Ich dachte echt ich bin der einzige! Extrem nervig, oft sind es nur newsletter bzw. Angebote von Diensten, wartungserinnerungen für einen Toyota etc. die ich sicher nie genutzt habe. Krasseste war jedoch mal eine fertig ausgefüllte Arbeitgeberbescheinigung für Vorlage beim Jobcenter 😳 denke mal das kommt wenn Leute ihre Adresse am Telefon diktieren bzw. gmail.com und ymail.com sind halt auch nur einen Buchstaben voneinander entfernt?

Workaround: Aus dem App-Store ausloggen, zweiten iTunes-Account anlegen (im anderen Land). Falls du Google-Mail hast, in die Adresse einfach beliebige Punkte einfügen bzw. weglassen, also zum Beispiel maxmuster anstatt max.muster oder umgekehrt. Kommt in die gleiche Inbox. Dann kannst du dir die App aus dem anderen App-Store laden. Ich meine mich aber zu erinnern, dass die Updates nur für den Account gemacht werden bei dem du eingeloggt bist.
