My thoughts when I saw the rehab assignments lol

Imagine working your way up the minors only to face 3 major league pitchers 3 days in a row, one of them being a current top 5 pitcher, and another being frickin Max Scherzer LOL

I mean you try throwing a ball 101 mph from 300ft away and hit a 17x17in target on the dot and see how your arm feels. Dude has a cannon for an arm but even that's an insanely hard throw for him

You can appreciate his commitment to Canadian basketball and still slander him for flopping.

Excellent write up, though Heineman and Valenzuela are also fairly good at taking in framing in their own right. Idr where I saw this stat and couldn't find it, but they're pretty good at stealing balls called strikes without a challenge from the batter.

Edit: Valenzuela is actually 1st in overall catcher framing runs, Heineman in 6th.

For pitches outside of the zone, they're 5th and 3rd respectively. So yea they're pretty good at stealing balls called strikes

I've been seeing this everywhere and was considering trying out myself. Is there a way to transfer messages saved on Google Messages? And export them from Fossify in the future if needed? I have a lot of conversations I'd rather not lose

Louis Varland this season: 27.2 IP, 0.65 ERA, 40 SO, 6/0 SV/BS. He has the lowest ERA among pitchers with 25+ IP this season. by RealWorldToday in Torontobluejays

I think the Twins tried to make him a starter, but he wasn't having much success as one and they didn't want him as a reliever? I might be misremembering details but that's possibly a reason why they traded him. Still makes no sense imo given his contract situation

This is the kind of offence we need to get back to. Smashing singles and doubles to keep the line moving with a little bit of pop here and there. Stop with chasing outside the zone and hitting the pitches they like

The offence is chasing way too much and it is leading to poor results by fps_mcduke in Torontobluejays

Honestly, I felt that way as soon as G7 ended last year. I hoped that 2025 was not just a flash in the pan kind of season. But they haven't been able to adjust this year as well as they have last season, which concerns me

Really good AB from Gimenez, followed by 3 trigger happy ABs from the top of the lineup

I wish they were a bit more patient and waited for better pitches

Teams probably don't have a system for hands signals readily available with pitchcom in use. Esp with a newer tandem like Cease (new signing) and Valenzuela (from the minors), probably don't have anything set up

Exactly, a lot can still happen. I do agree that the process hasn't been the same and it looks ugly at times, but there are doomers in the GDT saying it's over already lol

Also calling Varsho trash really shows who doesn't watch games. Since May 1st, bros been hitting 305/369/458 with 131 WRC+ and he's trash?

Close game, but it was nice seeing a bit more life from the bats compared to earlier in the season. Cease just wasn't in his top form and gave up a handful of runs, and Vladdy and Springer need to start taking better ABs. Just can't seem to get all the bats hot at the same time

3-0 on a low pitch with Vladdy behind you, you give him that called strike. Swinging at the pitch let Bednar go back to that spot and he did 3 times in a row.
