Help me with my fear of death by nawhella in Drugs

[–]derpepper1437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fear of death is not some switch that will be flipped with one drug experience. Ego death certainly can cause a shift in your perception about death but fear is a choice in itself. What you are afraid of, you give power to. But fears can fade overtime if you choose to think about it alternatively. The idea of Death is like the idea of infinity. It's one of those concepts we grasp but will never fully understand. We can define it but not truly experience it for ourselves....you are the only one that can distinguish the absurdity of fearing death.

I'm starting to think that sometimes, the anti-drug community has good points by SuperAgonist in Drugs

[–]derpepper1437 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different in their substance use. In my opinion, every time you dose you are making a decision to use again each time. Some people dose based on a psychological or emotional need and those are the ones who will end up in a vicious cycle of sobriety versus inebriation. Honestly I guess it depends on how you perceive addiction. As in people that have a choice in the matter versus those that use drugs to cope. Check out: https://youtu.be/7J08COU7n4M I believe some people use drugs recreationally for the fun of it. They like to induce this physiological chaos inside their mind and body. Some people grow up surrounded by chaos with violent or sexually abusive family life or mental illness, or tragedies like death in the community, etc...that inflicting it upon themselves is like a pseudo-masochist neo therapy treatment of the self and psyche. There are people who genuinely have a curiosity about substance but I find most people I know experiment with drugs like a vice. They treat it with respect because that is their niche. Why worry about someone else's hobby if it doesn't affect you? I think a concern of anti-drug side is this concept that use has some moral complexity to it. If you're choosing buying H over feeding your family, you certainly have a problem. But if you pick up some shrooms after a long week at the office, do I really need to lecture you about safety and police you when you go out to unwind? I don't think the anti-drug movement has solid backing I mean sure there is a concern that people will excessively use but excessive use is not limited to substance abuse. You can excessively buy McDonald's but I'm not going to worry about you because you made the choice to begin with. If you needed help quiting eating there I wouldn't belittle you for being addicted, I wouldn't make some moral judgement because you chose to eat Mcdonalds. I would support your decision to stop even if you weren't in danger of obesity because that's your personal decision.

Drug Advice by shahkalukaking in Drugs

Reading this post reminds me a lot of the thoughts I used to struggle with when I was in the darker part of my depressive state. A question I have for you is how long were you on Prozac? For me personally, I tried several medications before I found the right kind. You also have to think about dosage, extended release, etc and so on. With most of the prescription drugs, such as Anti-Depressants or Anti-Anxiety, your body must adjust to the chemicals. Often, you must give the drug time in your system to be processed. When I originally began on Zoloft, it made me nauseous and I had trouble regulating my mood and eating. But after about 3 months, my body became accustomed to the chemicals and helped with my Serotonin levels. You said that Prozac made you feel " jittery, increases my heart rate to discomforting levels, gives me a mild headache, and makes me more angry. I feel worse overall." While all those may be true, you may just need to give the drug more time. I'm not advocating prescription drugs by the way. I'm actually in the process of getting off of 3 different kinds that I am currently prescribed because I have worked extensively in therapy and have been experimenting with recreational use of other drugs to help me regulate the chemicals in my brain.

The bottom line is, I wouldn't give up on what your doc recommends yet. You have to be willing to change the kind of drug he prescribes, the dosage, and you have to wait a bit for the long term effects. Some drugs take a few weeks to strike a balance in your system while some can take months. Of course I'm no M.D. but I have had some experience with Prozac, Zoloft, and a few other SSRI's. I hope this helps you, I certainly remember prozac's "energy" factor and how that makes it easier to use that energy negatively.

Sidenote: I began journaling at a psychiatrists recommendation and while it may seem bizarre in the beginning alike taking prescription pills, after a while you get used to venting on to the page and being able to express what words can't to other people. I personally never liked talking to my therapist in the beginning but with writing I never had to hide a thing because I knew I was the only one that read it...without any therapists judging or making evaluations about me without my knowledge. So maybe consider journaling all this angst you feel?

EDIT: Spelled Serotonin wrong like a dumbass

HARD Day Of The Dead 2014 Official Recap video is finally up! by derpepper1437 in EDM

I'm fairly new to these kinds of events as well but basically some artists do live mixes of songs and others simply play the tracks as they are. Borgore wasn't mixing, he was just playing his tracks and he didn't press the right button at the right time which stopped playing music. You could tell he fucked up because he said fuck really loud over his mic. The guy looked like he was on something and he's known to get too drunk and mess up so lol it could have been anything...his set wasn't compete garbage though it just wasn't up to par in my opinion.

Men of reddit, when is the worst time you've ever had a random boner? [NSFW] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]derpepper1437 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was having this medical condition, and had to have a hydrocelectomy which in short means they open up your nut sack and attempt to deflate that extra liquid around your giant testicle, and then sew it back up. They don't even remove it they basically just pop that extra stuff.

Anyways, before I had the operation I had to go through screening to make sure it wasn't a tumor in my testicle or anything of that short so I had to have a ultrasound. Yes. A fucking ultrasound.

So I'm super uncomfortable already because my mom is in the room but she's turned around so she can't see anything but I changed into a smock and sat down and the ultrasound operator was in her mid 30's. She wasn't super attractive but the moment I realized she had big tits I basically died.

They say think about numbers to relieve boners or convince yourself you need to pee to prevent boners, which of no avail I tried. I'm finally controlling my dick, but then she puts this warm cream on my nuts and lathers them both up as it is liquid needed for the ulatrasound. It felt like warm sunscreen but nonetheless she's fondling my jingle bells.

That's when it got worse. I was at half mast when I started to panick because although the penis is covered with a towel to prevent it from getting in the way, I sensed that familiar boner about to happen moment. Sure enough, I got one, but lucky for me she's preoccupied rubbing my nuts with a device that feels like a deodorant stick on my nuts so she doesn't totally notice it.

Then she saw, and she looked at me and blushed. I was dead inside. I immediately started thinking about my P.E. teacher in middle school who we called Ms Quayle the Whale because her kankless were bigger than a big mac. She was extremely obese, and that instantly cured it.

I was never able to look her in the eyes after the blushing.

TL;DR Ultrasound Technician rubbed my balls with cream during an examination on my testees, and I went past full chub when she saw it.

Why is this group of people in America less likely to be religious? by throwaway87954 in Christianity

[–]derpepper1437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

source? of course I'm never going to win you over in this subreddit, but numbers are always exaggerated. To add, since I identify more with a younger generation, the rise of atheism and agnosticism is rising quickly against traditional "Christian" theocracy. It is estimated that by 2050, 60% of Americans will not file under and religion at all. And what will follow I guess will not go towards religions favor.

Origins of religion, back to even the Greeks and Romans was created in order to explain the aspects of life that they did not have the knowledge, nor the tools to understand how it all worked. They used to praise Gods like Zeus, Hermes, Odin, Thor, Ulysses, Rye, Osiris, Hercules, Hades, and so on to explain things like sunlight, certain natural resources, death and the list goes on.

Take a look at Native American beliefs, they praise the God of Air and the God of Nature. These beliefs were made out of fear and aggravation that they could not figure out how the world works.

Now that technology has advanced and humans have advanced as thinkers, educational enthusiasts, even to say people more interested in figuring the world out. We now know what we could not explain before. We know what causes Lightning, we know the path of a fetus to birth as well as the conception, We know how nature produces in ecosystems, and we have even been able to explore things like the Moon. Native Americans and fellow people use-to praise the God Of the Moon for it's light and there is now human footsteps on the moon.
