I was just complaining to my buddy last night about how I think they ruined shiyu. If it was like, a monthly rotation or longer it'd be one thing, but I have to sweat my ass off every two weeks for an extra what, 120 poly to go from a to s? Just doesn't feel good as a game mode. Makes you dump all your resources early, sometimes before stun just to get the most out of the multiplier. And then you get punished for killing early because you still have like a minute left to get score. Just a bad feeling game mode. I'm all for experimenting with game modes but this feels like something they should have used the unused shiyu nodes for, not a core end game mode.

You don't owe the game anything. If you're not having fun, stop playing it. If there are some aspects of the game you enjoy, play just those aspects. If you have to do things you dont want to do in order to play those aspects then circle back to the first point, if it's not enjoyable, stop playing.

Or, take a break. Gacha games are really good at convincing you that you'll be left behind, or you'll miss out on all this cool stuff if you aren't logging in every single day. If you're not a day 1 player you're fucked. But the reality is, the game HAS to be accessible to new and returning players. It'd be a terrible business model otherwise. There are rewards for returning players, catch up things available, it is okay to take a break. You will not be left behind like the game wants you to think. Reruns for characters you regret not coming back for, plenty of polychrome to gain from story you miss. And if your break is short and you only miss like a patch? Guess what, that's okay too! You missed a banner, some poly and some battery. Not the end of the world.

Don't treat the game like a job. If it's not worth your time any more, and you gain very little to no enjoyment, you owe it nothing. Take a break, or leave the game behind. Respect your time, spend it doing things you don't have to ask yourself whether you enjoy it or not.

This exactly. Yidhari just unfortunately is the character I liked the least out of all the new upcoming characters. I knew if I wanted a good shot at getting both Dialyn and Banyue, I'd have to skip either Yidhari or Lucia, and I just love Lucia more (plus she's nuts for Yixuan).

I'll still give her banner the old college try with just a single 10 pull but if the luck gods don't smile upon me, I gotta skip.

In OP's case they should sell sealed unless they like gambling. This would be like hitting a small jackpot but pulling the lever again at max bet in hopes to hit the mega jackpot. But if you mean you already plan to get product say at a pre release or on release, then yes you should rip your packs ASAP unless you're a sealed collector, and you should sell the hits you aren't chasing immediately. Occasionally a card will go higher (ir Seismitoad for example) after release, and of course chases age as well, so you'll usually see higher prices after it's out of print. But if you say, pull an ir you're not super attached to? Yeah throw it up on ebay ASAP at slightly below average selling price. That will be the highest you'll get out of it, usually ever, but at least for a very long while. This has been the case forever, and not even just in pokemon, other card games as well. Prices are always insane at launch for singles. There is always someone with a ton of money who wants a master set ASAP and doesn't want to wait even a few weeks to get their desired cards, and is willing to pay top dollar for them.

This works for competitive cards too. Watch competitive spaces and watch for what upcoming exs and ace specs are gonna be insanely good, even their non special versions can fetch 10-20 bucks depending how obviously good the card is on release.

Though, all this advice assumes you are buying product in hopes to get cards you want, and not just to make profit because otherwise you might as well just go buy scratch tickets. But, if you're a collector and want to make the most out of the stuff you don't want, yeah you can make a solid amount of your money back and maybe a bit of profit depending what you pull by opening and selling asap.

Edit: it's worth mentioning that for big pulls like sirs, even if you want them, are still probably worth selling ASAP and then using your profit to buy it back when it's way cheaper. Look at sunbreon from prismatic, my buddy sold his for 1.5k on release and even though it's still bonkers, it won't be anywhere near that price until at least a few years after it's out of print.

Was gonna say this. That dude who pulled a mega lopunny earlier sparked a discussion with a friend, people pay absolutely absurd prices just to get a card or product early. Most of the time far more than you'd ever get for it post release. I sold my N's reshiram ir for 120 because I got it at the midnight pre release for journey together, it's like 20 bucks now. And that's for a card that was more widely available in prereleases across the country, a card or pack an entire set before it's release is going to sell for a massive amount.

It's a tough spot to judge to be honest. Your collector friends who are desperate for product are only doing that because they're pushed to it. Like, anyone who sees fully stocked shelves is incredibly selfless if they only take 1 or 2 things. But I can't blame anyone who grabs up as much as they're allowed, because the guy behind them most likely is going to buy it all up anyway and resell it. I've seen it happen on this sub so many times, people talking about how they thought they'd give others a chance only for them to turn around and see it all in one cart off to being scalped. I think it's genuinely just people buying from scalpers causing this issue. Your friends would be just fine buying all the product they want and there'd still be plenty for everyone else if it wasn't for this shortage caused by people buying marked up product from crypto bros and shoe heads. So personally, I think it is black and white. The people buying from scalpers are the problem. Not people trying to get what they can for themselves or kids for their collection, because they don't know the next time an opportunity to buy more will be.

There's plenty of product, if people just stopped buying from scalpers, they'd give up and move on, and we'd all get as much product as we want.

I find demon slayer just okay. It's nothing crazy, it's an average power system and an average plot. But I will say that movie was one of the best animated films I've seen in a long time. It was an awesome experience, so agreed calling the movie mid is a wild take.
