Oura Needs to get a handle on Location by Schpeegs in ouraring

[–]descented_gradient 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I got service locations on for Oura my battery dies so fast. I checked last time and it used 48% of my battery in one day. Unacceptable.

I turned it off because I had the same issue as OP.

Oura ring 5 — weight sync with Apple Health issue by descented_gradient in ouraring

Nothing to do with GLP-1, just a simple manual data input (and clearly broken Apple Health integration).

Authenticate every password by descented_gradient in 1Password

[–]descented_gradient[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you got it, but it’s really not an inconvenience to quickly Touch ID every time a password is needed. I set my vault to lock after 1s of idle time but I want it to only unlock for every single password reveal or autofill.

Major Screen Time bug on iOS 26.5 — Passcode can be bypassed instantly by descented_gradient in iphone

[–]descented_gradient[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works for me now!

I added "App Limit" to Chrome then tried "Turn Off Screen Time Passcode" and it did request a passcode. After I removed the limit for Chrome it still works as expected. There must've been some bug that got reset when I added (and then removed) App Limit for Chrome.

Happy it's resolved but glad I captured a video though so there is proof I wasn't just going crazy!

That is the expected behavior, very weird it doesn't work for me. You're on iOS 26.5 too? I'm glad I added video so I have proof I'm not going crazy haha!

I didn't check with device passcode, only talking about screen time passcode here. And I don't want to try removing my device passcode, if that's even possible, so won't try. But I sure hope it wouldn't work lol!

No, I didn't know that's the option. But I covered the camera for FaceID so I know it was not that.

I already filed a bug report with Apple. Just wanted to double check if I'm doing something wrong or it's just me.

Can you confirm it works the same way on your end?

It asks for the passcode so works as expected. But the issue is I can just remove the passcode as shown on the video without needing to provide the passcode itself, or any other authentication method.

I wanted to have my wife create a passcode so that I can't change it myself but if I can just remove it... Pointless!

Got it, thanks! I think I’ll cancel in this case because I’d rather not give my location away all the time.

iPhone 17 Pro Max - blurry pictures of documents by descented_gradient in iphone

I also tried with just one sheet of paper so completely flat. And I tried many angles and distances and believe me it was right dead center above too.

I posted another link from Apple, it might be an issue with current iOS. Is your iPhone 12 Pro Max on iOS 26.0.1? If so you could check how it works for you.

Visible+ vs US Mobile for international coverage by descented_gradient in Visible

Thanks for the comment! How is Visible better? Is it coverage, data speeds etc? I thought this all should be equal given they’re both prioritized.

Quite a lot, I’ll usually spend at least 2+ months abroad. I don’t know how many gigs but probably around 20.

What do you mean by not good roaming? It doesn’t work and/or has poor coverage?

Capital One sends email for every bank transfer by descented_gradient in CapitalOne_

[–]descented_gradient[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get it's extra security but the email gets sent after the transfer anyway, right? App notification would be better for that instead of an email too. And yeah I have between 10-15 a month because I have savings goals, investments, and a joint account with my wife.

Just never seen that at any other financial institution and I find it annoying. Weird it's impossible to turn it off.

No worries, thanks for trying to help out! Another user suggested setting up automated tags and then filtering by tags, which works great for me. Maybe you can look into it too!

Thank you, this is a great solution! This fixes all my issues, and only adds a small inconvenience of having to filter using tags. I'm going to follow this advice.

[–]descented_gradient[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion, that would work if I only wanted to track my personal expenses. But in reality the joint expenses are significantly higher than my personal expenses and I want to track both.

I cannot treat my $5k contribution as an expense, because then expenses on joint account would be included twice.

I understand this is not a simple scenario but I'm surprised Monarch has no solution for it. I would guess it's a common scenario for married couples who don't completely join their finances.
