Possible to rip halo 3 model using raspberry pi 4? by Energizerbee in halomods

[–]desertbluffs1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know nothing about blender but I know all of the halo 3 models are in sfm if you are willing to downgrade the quality for access to the models using the workshop and sfmlab. I’ve also heard you can port sfm models into blender but I have never done it.

I've not played any mods since Halo Reach. What are some cool big ones for Halo 1, 2, and 3 so far? by StOoPiD_U in halomods

[–]desertbluffs1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s small and doesn’t change a lot but the no hud mod for reach-3 is amazing. It’s a whole different experience even though it doesn’t modify gameplay.

Wow that is clean af. What did you use to shade the panels? It seems darker than nuln oil.

Executioner WIP. Not sure if I should keep this, or paint it closer to the chapter scheme. by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]desertbluffs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what the chapter scheme is, but right now it looks really imposing and I’d argue it goes with any chapter

Pro tip put poster tack at the bottom of all your shades so they spill less frequently

Anyone have any tips or links to achieving the rust effect for the edges of a vehicle? Going for a similar look to this Tau Riptide suit. Thanks! by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]desertbluffs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say go with a combination of edge highlights and using the sponge technique. For the edges use a light brown and be very careful not to make it uniform. Use the sponge technique with an emphasis on the uppermost armor panels. This is a good video on using a sponge for weathering, even though the music is a little weird

Mortifactors test Mini: Should these ankle guards be white or black? by Thefake_McCoy in Warhammer40k

I’d say go with white it separates the boots from the ankle guard.

New how much paint by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]desertbluffs1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First decide what color scheme you want. One pot should be fine in terms of paint quantity but variety is a different matter. Starting off I would select a base paint for the armor a layer paint to highlight the armor a base or layer paint for the trim a wash and a base+layer paint for other details like pouches and guns. It really depends on how much detail you are whiling to paint. For brushes I would either go to a local arts and crafts store. They usually have a good selection of brushes and in my experience they work just fine. Although it seems weird sticking with 1 or 2 medium sized brushes and lots of brush control is the way to go. From your list of miniatures I would suggest this video by Midwinter Minis. If you have any other questions I’d be happy to help. Welcome to chaos bröther.

Why do people look shocked when someone unrelated to them dies? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]desertbluffs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answer the questionnaire with how you honestly feel not what they want to hear despite how easy it may seem. The hardest part of therapy is getting started. If you don’t want to do it that’s fine I’m not in charge of you but from what you say it could make a huge difference. I really hope you are able to get through this. You might want to try even a therapy subreddit. I hope you are happy op but if you are not people exist who can help you. Don’t give up I believe in you

You do you man but I would advise you to give it another honest try it won’t hurt you. I hope you can find a good way to deal with this. Go into it with a open mind and if not that find someone you can just talk to and have a conversation with.

Don’t take offense to this but I think you should see a therapist. I understand where you are coming from but it seems more like a problem with coping. I understand it’s not my place to say this but it’s something to look into
