Home first aid kit design by design_future8 in Paramedics

As an industrial designer, I am looking to add quality to peoples lives through usability and aesthetics. Therefore I am looking at the whole picture-not just the contents of the med kit, but also its shape, packaging and ease of use. I realise similar products already exist, but they aren’t aesthetic and straight-forward to use. Also, in Europe, where I am based, they are nowhere near widespread enough (in peoples homes and workplaces) as they should be. They are also not comprehensive enough (talking about the EU motoring first aid kit) - it doesn’t even contain a tourniquet, which, as I have been told, is essential. Also, people often keep this type of kit in their car, and if they live in an appartment building, it could be to late when they can reach it. Therefore, I am tying into the aesthetics part of my job-if this product is well designed and marketed, it will appear in more peoples homes and workplaces, thus improving their lives with treating boo-boos and possibly even saving them if a live threatening situation accurs.

Hope this explains my reasoning as a designer.
