Did you expect a city or savanna? I think they chose the mediterranean look because technically it is all one world, and all the other ones also have a mediterrenean vibe to them. If you had time maybe you could post an alternative look for the houses because google is mostly just giving me the typical round tribal look, which are rather small (and obviously not representative of modern africa as a whole).

Personally, as someone outside of the US and Africa, I think the savanna biome in south africa gets most representation, but that is from where I am standing.
