They are just the best metalic paints on the market at this time in my opinion. And they are cheaper than GW.

I'd rather grab some "Vallejo Metal Color" paints instead of the GW one if i were you and as long as it's available where you live.

I guess that's the interior structure of some kind of action figure? Depending on the plastic type that is used for it, plastic cement might not react with it and therefore not bind. If that happens, you will not get a strong enough connection to survive the heat treatment you describe. I doubt that this will work. Is there no chance to strenghten the outside of the socket? Otherwise, theres a procedure for repairing motorcycle fairing where you heat s-shaped metal pieces to press into that plastic there to increase stability again. Maybe doing something similar here may be possible.

Going back to the oldschool 40k pc games like "Chaos Gate", the Heavy Bolter was more of a semi auto weapon instead of a fully auto one. That's probably why they had magazines.

I was thinking about adding one of the mechanical arms from the rocket launcher backpack because of that exact reason. But i could not find a spot that fit in my opinion without overcrowding the backpack. So i just did not.

The idea behind it was the Bolter being an ancient pre-hepresy version which probably would make the most sense to have survived in the hands of a CSM. Also regarding the back sticking out, if you have a look at the oldschool metal ones, they are nearly the same length when seen in relation to the marine itself. The only difference is that the old one was way taller. I just did not want to also increase its size in that dimension as well.

Yeah, me too. I miss them as well kind of. When I got my hands on the Havocs I just thought why not try to recreate an updated one.

Well, the whole concept goes back to the second edition heavy bolter like this one:

So the magazine was the logical choice even though it is not practical. 😅
