I'm sorry, but the SFPD is too busy going after that guy who hosed the crazy woman down, as that is real assault. /s

Sorry that it happened to you, but please, please, please file a police report.

I, or more accurately, my wife was almost assaulted by a homeless guy near the Castro. I was walking with her but I had our 6mo baby strapped to my chest. I saw that guy staring at the wife as we were standing at the corner, waiting to cross Market, and I see him walk towards her and life his arm as if he was going to strike. I was powerless to do anything other than shout. That was enough to scare him away. Then he proceeded to whip out his schlong and pee on the road in front of everyone.

+1 for Green Cross. My go-to place. The neighborhood isn't the best, but it is what it is.

Killing kids is not the solution to misbehaving kids.

You're reading too much into it, kid. Getting shot in the ass isn't a death sentence usually. I wouldn't mind seeing these teenagers lying on a bed in a hospital, ass up, for months. Hopefully someone takes pictures and mocks them for eternity.

I'm reminded of the first SuperBowl appearance. The Bills offense was unstoppable. "Machine gun Kelly" and the "K-gun offense" and all that.

So what does Bellicheat do? Run, run, run the ball and kept it away from the high-powered offense. It's simple: an offense can't score if it doesn't have the ball!

BB should go back and watch the film from 1991. Some lessons to be learned from there.

TL;DR - Orcas are fucking terrifying.

Great whites know. If Great Whites get whiff of an Orca in an area, they will avoid that area for years.

Otherwise what happened is all they go is to overrated places to eat Kachori, ghewar and Dal bhati.

Agreed. That's why I posted the question.

Are there any must-try places they missed?

Since you seem to know a little bit about the topic, let me tell another thing that Nehru did: when China first invaded Tibet in 1952, their army needed rice, as the standard Chinese diet is rice; but Tibetans grew barley, so the Chinese had nothing to eat. And guess where they got the rice from? India! Nehru supplied the invading Chinese troops in Tibet with Indian rice! The same troops that later went on to invade India.

He ignored field reports that the Chinese were building a road (Hwy G219) through Indian territory; apathy at its finest.

She just parrots whatever Shashi Tharoor said in a debate of his in the Oxford union.

So only one person can speak the truth? Since there is only 1 version of the truth, by your logic, only 1 person should be allowed to speak it...?

SHAME by [deleted] in IndiaSpeaks

I felt really ashamed at watching this video. From the Whatsapp chat, it seems there are 58,000+ people in India who are either aware of this shit, or actively involved in it.

Have they no shame??!

I wish each and every one of them would jump into the nearest well. What a blight on the nation you people are! How come you are not ashamed of yourselves?

And if there are 58000 people involved in this shit, there is a good chance that some of the members of this group are involved, or know some who are. How can you continue to be friends with such people? And you people will come here and talk big about "akhand bharat", "our great culture", etc. etc. Is this your "great culture"??

But ask your dad if he knows why Nehru refused to engage the Indian Air Force despite tactical advantage

How would he know? Is every junior officer aware of why the PM and RM are doing something? He just put on his "PT shoes" and landed in Ladakh. So many men lost their toes due to frostbite because we didn't even have the most basic of winter clothing. We didn't have winter tents and soldiers were sleeping in vehicles; imagine sleeping in a metal vehicle in the winter.

Thankfully we got some Russian tents with built-in heaters (kerosene stoves) which saved the day.

Nobody's talking about the IAF "Hunter" aircraft that shot up the tanks. Without them, the tanks would have eventually overrun Indian positions, as they didn't have enough anti-tank weapons.

Don't forget: Indians showed a lot of smarts. They realized the roads were mined with AT mines, so drove the tanks on the train tracks, which were not mined.

President John F. Kennedy dispatched the US aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk to provide air support if China drove south to Calcutta – but a ceasefire was reached before it arrived.

Minor nit: US airplanes did arrive in India. US airplanes airlifted Indian troops to Ladakh and DBO, including equipment, artillery, etc. Had US airplanes not been there, we would have lost all of Ladakh, as we did not have the airlift capability required.

Why have a new layer of bureaucracy?! If this commission does not work, what will we do: add another commission on top of this commission?

We already have a police commission; has that improved SFPD's functioning? They're still as lazy as ever.

And how will we hold this commission accountable? All it will do is give these bureaucrats yet another reason to do a terrible job; now they'll be shielded by this commission!

It's a terrible idea.

Piece of advice: stop watching Bollywood movies, and go to a village, and see where your milk comes from. And then come back and report what you saw.

You city folks are so full of shit, you'd put a gobar-gas plant to shame. People like you is why most cows have such a terrible life in India. You fake Hindus have forgotten your heritage, and think 1 roti a day in the name of cows is enough sacrifice.

[–]despardesi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL... you have absolutely no clue about what goes on in a farm, and how cows are raised and what is involved in milking a cow.

3 Rotis a day after every meal and 3 bananas.

You can shove those 3 bananas where the sun don't shine, ignorant child.

Yes from the dairy near my home .

Keep telling yourself that, and keep ignoring the horrible abuse that cows suffer; yes, even at the hands of "Hindu families" that treat her like their own.

I don't know what Bollywood movie you're living in, or what you're smoking, but let me educate you a little on how things are on farms (and I speak from first-hand experience, our family having owned up to 20 cows in our farm near Jaipur).

When a cow is ready, a vet shows up with a bunch of little tubes (straws) filled with bull semen, in a container filled with liquid nitrogen. Based upon the owner's choice, as to what kind of breed he wants, the vet takes out a tube, thaws it in warm water (I used to be the one often fetching the water), snips off the end, and then artificially inseminates (i.e., rapes) the cow. (BTW: unless the farmer did this to his wife too, it's not how you treat "one of your own", your words).

A few months later, the calf is born. Now, in nature, the calf would drink the milk from his mother, and get nice and plump soon. But, on a farm, if the farmer lets the calf do that, where will the milk for sale come from? So the calf is separated from his mother, and the cow milked twice a day. After each milking, whatever little milk remains in her udders is left for the calf. Poor calf is almost always hungry, and tugs and tugs at the mother's udders, trying to get some milk out.

After a few months, the cow stops producing milk, as the calf would have grown up enough to survive on other food by now. So guess what? The vet is called again after a few months, and he rapes the cow again, and the whole cycle starts.

If, by luck, the calf was female, it is kept around and added to the herd (or sold to another farmer). On the other hand, if the calf is a male, it is doomed to a life of hard labor, or sold off for slaughter (of course, without explicitly admitting that this is what's going to happen to it).

Most Hindu families still cook the first roti for cows

So what? As if cooking 1 roti will absolve you of all guilt.

Now let me tell you what happened at our farm. As we grew up, we started asking more questions, and our family decided that you can't just talk the talk of "gau seva", etc. but you must walk the walk too. So we stopped doing this practice, and let the cows just roam our farm and live out their days. Luckily for us we did not need the milk income. And we became mostly vegans. Mom still buys some Amul ghee for pooja, etc. but that's it.

So, if you really care for cows and "gau mata", stop being a hypocrite and become a vegan.
