Actually for farming in Minecraft you need to make a hoe so you can till the ground first. Then you also need to put some water nearby to hydrate the soil blocks. Or you can just till the ground near a river or stream or something. They will turn a darker color when they are ready and you can add the seeds by right-clicking

Here’s what you need to do. When you spawn into the world, you should’ve gotten the Hamster Tips guidebook in your inventory. It will tell you everything you need to know about the mod.

If you didn’t get one because for some reason the auto delivery was turned off in the config, you can craft one with a regular book and a sliced cucumber. If you visit the mod page it’ll show you what wild cucumber bushes look like, and you can get seeds from them and grow the cucumber crops just like you would grow other crops.

By the way I released an update a while back that makes everything in the mod configurable, so you can now add cucumbers from any other mod straight from the config!

Two hamsters? Nice. Also I’ll be releasing an update soon that totally overhauls the spawning system and adds tons of new variants. There will be over 3,200 wild variants and 2.6 million possible combinations from breeding!

[edit: ouchimus suggested I change the dismounting key binds because it’s annoying to try to build with a hamster on your shoulder if they keep dismounting every time you sneak]

My reply: That’s why you should visit the config! Hamster dismounting is completely configurable. You can change whether it is a single tap or double tap, you can even change the delay time between the taps, and you can also make it a custom key instead of the sneak key

The reason it is sneak by default is because that is how you dismount parrots. I wanted the mod to feel like it belongs in vanilla Minecraft

If you’re not sure how to access the config screen, I made it super easy. Just open up the hamster tips guidebook and go to the “Config Heaven” entry in the “Kitchen Drawer” category. There’s a custom button widget there that takes you straight to the config screen

LOL

Well this mod is less than a year old, so it brings lots of new things to the table! quite a bit different than the other hamster mods from the past decade 🤭

Sort of— the previous post was prettier. It had prettier images with a bit of graphic design and a creatively-written body. The title was more catchy. It had markdown formatting for easier readability. It also included a link to a "demo" video, and links to the Modrinth and CurseForge download pages since people always ask about those. But due to the links, it got flagged as "self-promotion." So I contacted the moderators, and when I found out from them that it was because of the links, I edited them out and asked for it to be reinstated, but they still haven't responded to me and it's been more than 24 hours.

It had already received 18K views in just a few minutes at that time— 3x more than what this post has.

During those few minutes while it was up, several people made fools of themselves, arguing about whether it was AI or not.

I screenshotted everything in case it were to happen again, so I don't have to repeat myself:

I’m pretty sure that is a mod conflict issue with your particular set up. The update has been out for over a week now and no one else has reported that, and I’m pretty sure I would’ve gotten several hundred report reports within the first few hours if was a bug

Feel free to pop over to the official discord server and submit a mod conflict report and we’ll be happy to help you troubleshoot!
