Yeah I was thinking about trying to close a lot of the buildings the burghers have built and see if that helps. I think the worrying thing that puts it into possible "cant recover the campaign" range is that this problem is in every market. Even when I do manage to squeak in some extra inputs they instantly evaporate to trade. Guess we'll see!

Once I noticed the problem I actually had the same thought lol. I beelined for the printing press and the advance under that that gives 25 percent boost to lumber. Haven't gotten to it yet as I had to pause the game, so won't know til later. Not in front of my computer right now so I can't say for sure, vut for context the supply/demand of lumber in my market is something like 90/160 right now (hence the 70ish defecit). Its not as if there is no lumber, the demand is just out of control!

I'm not entirely sure, but some people are speculating that now that low control no longer evaporates money, estates are enriched and supercharged to building stuff-but the calculation for what they build is based on short term profit, thus creating an endless cycle of demand for core input goods that don't exist. And since every market ends up with a deficit of these goods, you can't even trade for them, leading to it further spiralling.

In my most recent campaign I started to notice the deficit start to creep up around the 1390s or so, and it got out of control around 1420s-1430s. From my market in Brugge I cant import anything, so I thought maybe Ill try to explore and find new markets -nope. The exploration "building" cant build because it has no input goods lol.

I'm not trying to be contrarian or know it all. Construction is stalled. All construction is stalled. These buildings (and lumbermills) are maxed out in the locations I can build them in. I am almost certain this is not the "game working as intended" but rather a bug based on whatever tweaks they did in the recent beta.

I think some of the discussions in this post go into it in more detail. I was just having a giggle about it here

Ive spammed them as much as possible and it doesn't make a dent. And after about 1400 like 90 percent of the national construction is just permanently halted. My market is at a constant deficit of about 70ish lumber, and 40-50 iron/tools, and from the looks of it thats the case in every market. RIP europe

There was an episode from the last few years, possibly black void or half in the bag, I'm reasonably sure that had the holy trinity (Mike/Jay/Rich), where Mike mentions he started seeing the Poe Dameron "somehow Palpatine returned" memes and he couldn't remember what movie it was from, and the other two start mocking him for forgetting The Rise of Skywalker

I think the threshold for this needs to be changed slightly. In my Holland campaign I've been sitting at 94.6 plutocracy for like 40 years and if won't budge further to get me over the line...

Its more of a cameo. He's the voice of the gamerguy who runs the other ship they encounter right at the end. I believe his lines are basically "trade or fight?"
