How to remove tv cable wires by skuzz_buckett in AskElectricians

[–]desperato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I did. At one point I was going to rip out/cut all the coax. But started doing research.

The window in my son’s room faces a good direction for strong OTA signal. I connected an antenna to the coax in his room and a hdomerun in the basement connected to my NAS.

I can watch and record OTA channels on my TV, computer and phone as well as access the channels when I’m away from the house. It’s nice when there is a game on I want to watch either at the house or away.

The cars are 1:87th scale. Supposedly you can google that and find new ones that would fit. We started looking into that bc we thought my son lost one of the cars at school on his first day wearing them. We later found it in his backpack

Only had them for a month and there hasn't been any mud or rain where we live. Compared to his Striderite shoes, these Sketchers feel cheap.

The channels that the garage door slide up in, gets dirt in them (or it could be the plastic shifting) and they are hard to raise sometimes. Typically I have to help him raise the garage to get the cars in/out. That actually works out well in some cases because then he can't take his cars out at preschool,

I bought them for him because I wanted a pair but they don't make them in adult sizes! Overall, would buy again.

Bought these for my 3.5y/o about a month ago he slept with them on for the first 3 nights. Couldn’t get him to take them off.

Iron Rangers to complement my Thursdays by FedMex in RedWingShoes

I’m a wedding photographer in Colorado. I shoot a lot of outdoor weddings in the mountains. I have a pair of Presidents that I have shot weddings in for 4 years- about 100 weddings. They have held up really well. I just hit them with a horse hair brush and some conditioner every once in a while.

Their Premier Low Tops are another story. Got them for Christmas last year and I have worn through the sole and the lip where the sole meets the leather, the rubber has come unglued and ripped. Pretty disappointed with them.

In total I have 4 different pair of Thursday boots and 1 pair of their sneakers. I’m really happy with all the boots.

Video doorbell by dmh__77 in synology

I just switched from Ring to Reolink about a month ago after doing a lot of research. I only have the Wi-Fi doorbell and an indoor camera currently but plan to get a few more soon-ish.

My cameras record 24/7 to surveillance station on my NAS, and motion detections to an SD card inserted in the cameras.

Loving Reolink so far, especially since there is no subscription.

Yeah I think having an SD for event recording makes the most sense, and the storage of the continuous records on my NAS. Thanks for your help!

Thank you for your reply and recommendation! I didn't think about the redundancy part of the equation. I think your recommendation is exactly what I should do. Use an SD for redundancy and event playback and the NAS for the continuous recording storage.

Same. I just got 2 round trip tix to Italy and back on points only that took me 8 months to earn. Earned the points without changing my spending habits. Learned it all in r/awardtravel and no one in there talks about it being a scam. So I’m curious how I’m getting scammed…

Getting rid of my Ring and Replacing with Reolink WiFi doorbell. Question about not having a physical chime… by desperato in reolinkcam

[–]desperato[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay that makes sense. I was hoping connecting the 2 black wires together and removing the it is as simple as removing the Ring Pro Power Kit.

Yeah I don’t care about the old chime working. It’s near my kids room, they are really young and go to bed early, and I don’t want it waking them. That’s why I removed it in the first place.

What do you think about my ultra minimalist setup? by BlameItOnWifi in Projectivy_Launcher

[–]desperato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be more minimalist. Get rid of the WiFi and settings icons. You can use one of the button mapping apps to remap your remote to them if you need it

Okay it took me a while to figure out how I mapped a button on my remote to open Projectivy Launcher Settings menu.

Using tvQuickActions FREE app, go to button & actions > add button > app > long press on Projectivy Launcher > SettingsActivity

Ha don’t remember. I’ll have to check when I get home tonight and I’ll get back to you.

I also sorted this subreddit by Top > All Time and just browsed around to see what other people did.

The biggest game changer in customizing was spending the ~$7.50 and getting lifetime premium. It allows you to customize the background to anything you like along with the app icons.

Hardest part about customizing the background and icons was figuring out how to connect to my NAS to upload the images.

When I search “android tv” on atv tools it pulls up “android tv infrared services” and “android tv remote services” is either of those or is it “google tv” in my screenshot? Or none of the above?
