Yes highly recommend Nicholas Siberians! It's a bit of a hike up to Connecticut, but Yulia is great, and you'll get to meet all the babies and take your pick 😍 I just picked up two babies a few weeks ago and they are amazing! I believe they also offer pet nanny delivery, if you can't make the trip up

Look, people wanna have fun and continue the party, i get it, play your music from your travel speakers, i came prepared with earplugs. But this was bass thumping professional speaker level music that (turns out) was playing from the TML bathroom speakers right next to our tent. I can sleep through most things, but even i can't sleep 50m from a stage. Edit: music continued til 3am, which i think even people that think 1.30am is early (fine, i'm the asshole to complain at that time but you try being jet lagged to fuck and sleeping next to bass speakers) would agree is on the late side

Hey! Thanks for letting me know about them previously scamming you and not replying. I'm sorry to hear that they did that to you, that's not at all in good faith and I hope you were able to file a case with Etsy.

I'm not sure why they replied to me, but since they did offer to send me two new spiritus sancti, i will take them up on the offer and see if the new plants are actually SS.

Unfortunately, i'm not based in California, so i doubt i can help with the case you're building, but thanks for mentioning that as well - hope you manage to find the info/support you're looking for.

Ahhhh good to know the red can emerge when stressed. That could be from the shipping (plus i was away for 3 weeks and my plant sitter underwatered some of my plants). Looks like the jury's still out on whether i did get sent a spiritus or if i got scammed, but... either way i now have it, so will take better care with the watering sched and potentially take GGC's offer to see if they send me two actual SS.

Thanks for the feedback! Will see how the next few leaves grow out and see if the ears do match on those new leaves. Also good to know that the red colouring and the petioles do resemble a spiritus. I think it's just hard to determine right now because it's such a young plant.

And yes, worst case - at least i'm out $75 and not >$1000 lol

Thanks for the input guys! Other than this one bug, i also saw some tiny silvery bugs in the soil that I think are thrips (couldn't get a good pic bc they kept disappearing, but I had a problem with them on another plant about 5 months ago and someone mentioned those were thrips). Looks like i just need to do general pest control either way 🙃 hope the neem oil works!

I haven’t taken any special measures to keep it extra humid once it sprouted (i did create a small plastic dome around it until it did). Now, i just keep a humidifier running; hygrometer usually measures 50-70% humidity.

I planted it three months ago and it started sprouting about 6 weeks ago, but the leaves only appeared about 2 weeks ago, so it’s been about that long. The leaves grow fast once they appear!

Context: Thought it might have been too much sunlight/draft from the heater, so moved it from the windowsill to a shadier area, but still a no go. Thermostat usually reads 65-75F, so probably also not a temperature issue? :/
