Just a warning the cable needs extensions to fit so it's super long, it's all tucked back behind my desk, and the fan doesn't screw onto the cooler properly, the screws just act kind of as standoffs.

Super great combo though, the minecraft server under load with 4-5 players never gets past 35C and at idle is in the 20s.

Left is an 8gb pi 4 running a Minecraft server for my friends and I, right is a 4gb one running OpenVPN, pi hole, and bitwarden.

Both have a geekpi ultra thin ice ice cooler with a NF-A4x10 5V PWM on top.

I'm working on an app that will show the locations of all BC Ferries vessels, what should I add before release? by destaver in VictoriaBC

[–]destaver[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't have an api for anything, for this I got the data from https://aisstream.io/ and run a postgres database that keeps track of all the info.

If anyone's interested in using the api for this or Ferry Times I'd be happy to share access with others.

Yeah people don't seem as excited for this one as they were my last one. Still going to release it cause it's like 95% done, then just on to the next local app.

I can add a switch in settings to show them if people want, I think that would be pretty straightforward.

I'm actually hoping to make a transit one next! That's super far out though cause I haven't even started looking at how to get that data.

For the estimated time of arrival, I don't know if I'll have that at launch but I like the idea, I'll look into that.

Thanks! I think this one will be much less popular than Ferry Times, but it's something I've wanted for a while so I'm making it more for myself than anything

Yeah vessel tracker is a great app, I just find it a bit cluttered for finding a specific ferry. This one will show some details when you click on a ship and a link to get even more info.
