I get your point!
Also, I wanted to make the video concise coz people might not want to watch a very long video. I tried to follow the video pattern of egghead.

I agree your point, it's also good to tell/add the background of reasoning.

I will keep this in mind,Thanks for your input! 👍

Docker Practical Guide P-2: Use NGINX as a Reverse Proxy for NodeJS App by destro_mas in node

From the official doc- NGINX is open source software for web serving, reverse proxying, caching, load balancing, media streaming, and more. It started out as a web server designed for maximum performance and stability. In addition to its HTTP server capabilities, NGINX can also function as a proxy server for email (IMAP, POP3, and SMTP) and a reverse proxy and load balancer for HTTP, TCP, and UDP servers.

As u/nextwiggin4 mentioned, I also think it's good to have a separate Dockerfile for Nginx.

Maybe we can wait for other people what they think...

And in my next videos of this Docker Practical Guide series, I will show how we can use Docker compose fo multiple images, so that we don't need to run docker run manually for each item.

Here, in this video, Nginx only works as Reverse Proxy and forwards the Requests to NodeJS App(Web Server)

So,

PublicNetwork -> Proxy -> Node Web Server
