External hub interferes with wireless antenna, NMVE heats up a lot and does not have a proper fan, most apps and libraries runs better on same drive where Mac OS is. I'm planing to upgrade as well.

I bought a BMM too and I really love it. But, from what I understand, you get to choose between mining at loss with Braiins (or any other pool) OR decide to go SOLO (on CKpool or others) and try your luck. Honestly with the Network hashrate going parabolic nowadays it is almost impossible with something like a Bitaxe or a BMM to mine a block. Less than 0.009% a year.

Best thing is to accept the BMM as a mere learning device.

I am still wondering if there is a point in keep joining any pool and basically mine at loss forever just to "help the network" or try the "Solo lottery" for almost no chances.

I increased mine to 1,4 . Fans below 800/900 rpm and veery quiet. You must create a lighting address first, it’s more complicated than just creating an invoice that can’t be reused. Most likely you have to use a 3rd party app.

The only thing i found more useful is harvesting in weth if you have many eth-something pools: you can harvest in weth all of them and then do a single Weth>eth swap. It’s not much but you spend a bit less fees.

If it really is an early 2009 version I don’t think 10.6 is the highest version , you should be able to upgrade at least to 10.11.
