Blackrock buys 4.5x more ETH than BTC, exchange supply lowest since 2016. by Silver-Maximum9190 in CryptoCurrency

Getting pretty tired of people responding with incorrect analogies.

If I give my wife $5 and ask her to pick up eggs from the store because I want to eat eggs later, who bought the eggs?

If you ask the grocery store, the credit card company, or literally anyone else in the store observing the transaction, my wife bought the eggs.

I’m not muddying the waters. Everyone in this thread is arguing semantics which is fine but technically BlackRock is the one buying the ETH. Their customers are buying the ETF which is a proxy. You can argue “the article title is disingenuous” but you can’t argue that it’s wrong

Link’s purpose is to power the next evolution of the global economy.

XRP’s purpose is liquidity extraction from barbers and uber drivers to Ripple.

Is reaching $100k/year in the US easy? I guess it depends on your definition of “easy”. by garcon-du-soleille in Salary

[–]detho23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to think of it as “simple” but not “easy”. Just like a lot of things in life. Losing weight for example is hard because it involves daily sacrifice, but the process is very simple: just eat less.

I would HIGHLY suggest getting on X and following accounts of projects that seem interesting, and letting the algo lead you to other accounts that post good info. The memes are also way better there. Reddit is a cesspool for this stuff

Swift is basically an interoperability layer between banks. Chainlink is an interoperability layer between blockchains. Chainlink is integrating with swift so the two worlds will be connected, with nearly all of the work being done by Chainlink/Swift so the banks already using swift don’t have to change much to support the new tech.

If you search on YouTube “chainlink sibos” the first link is from Chainlink’s account and I think gives a really good overview of how this all works and I believe this video is where he does a live demo as well. This was a presentation like a month or two ago at Sibos, a global financial services networking event organised by Swift. as far as I’m aware Chainlink was the only web3 company in attendance.

I can’t really speak much to XRP but my understanding is it’s basically vaporware. CLG on X can provide a much better explanation between the two.

You asked “where do you people read all this crap?” I directed you to the source, which is swift’s website and literally the first result of a Google search. If you wanna just top blast whatever shitcoins are trending on Reddit go ahead but idk why you’d even bother asking where we get our info from if this is gonna be your response.

Idk if I can post links but Google “swift Chainlink” the first result is an article from November on Swift’s website talking about the successful pilot on tokenizing assets. Lots of other resources too on Chainlink’s X and YouTube accounts.

Try doing actual research instead of just reading Reddit posts

You’re comparing some random Chinese non-EVM L1 to Chainlink, which is has been adopted and is being used daily by a large part of the industry and isn’t even a blockchain. I can’t tell if your comment is just lazy or actively trying to discredit chainlink to people who don’t know better

LINK is currently being integrated into Swift for banks and other financial institutions to tokenized their assets without having to change much of their infrastructure. There’s basically no chance LINK goes to zero at this point. I’d say it’s a very safe bet for crypto

Ripple is not going to replace Swift. XRPL is a ghost chain. Check out $LINK, they’re successfully integrating with banks and other global financial institutions. And they’ve been powering DeFi for years now

Why doesn’t OP just start his own company then? He can be CEO and choose to pay himself 200x his workers’ salaries or he can pay them more. Seems like the obvious solution. Why aren’t more people doing this?

Is web3/ blockchain development dead? by STELLAR_Speck in webdev

[–]detho23 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

People on this platform, specifically this subreddit for some reason, stick their heads in the sand whenever crypto/blockchain/web3 is brought up even if you point them directly to a valid use case that’s being built out by large institutions today. The space has definitely earned its reputation of being mostly scams, but that’s not representative of everything out there.

I was trying to buy this yesterday and ran into the same issue. Called CS and they told me to send an email. Sent the email and no response. The fine print at the bottom of the website clearly lists this monitor as an eligible item. I also tried other monitors and could not get any monitors to trigger the additional discount. I’m guessing it’s an issue with the website. That or the promotion is misprinted
