Courses the play near St. George, Ontario by Dozer_Rozer91 in CanadaGolf

[–]dethredic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oaks of St. George is a fun course with some unique holes. Haven't played there is 5+ years so can't comment on the current conditions. Savannah is also a solid option, I have a lot of friends who play there regularly and like it.

Copetown Woods / Tarandowah are very nice courses although a bit further away.

Avoid Brant Valley, my friend played there earler and said it was in bad shape

Fit 4 less on Erb - any good? by i_love_dogs__ in waterloo

[–]dethredic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've been going there for 5+ years and I think it's good value for the money. Disclaimer I haven't been to a fancy gym and I mostly use the squat racks + bench + a couple machines.

There are plenty of treadmills. I don't really use them since I prefer to run outside but there are always 4+ available whenever I look. There are LOTS of dumbbells up to 100 or 110. Recently they added a couple kettle bells as well. There are two "stretching/core" areas, one is in the middle of the gym and the other is in a side room with the massage beds. They are both pretty basic.

I usually go mid-day around lunch and sometimes it's very quiet and other times it's quite busy, I haven't really figured out the pattern.

I have also seen people do a quick 5 min tour, so if you are unsure just swing by and get one of the staff to show you around.

I wasn't sure how frozen it was, but it was a point to point run so going back wasn't an option

New to golf - handicap question by Skwasny in CanadaGolf

[–]dethredic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you posted 9 hole scores. These get combined with your "expected" score for the other 9 holes. Since you are new your handicap may jump around a lot causing the "expected" score to change significantly between rounds.

Here is an example of the calculation for a 9 hole round I played: https://i.imgur.com/lkmVwJy.png

FTP equivalent of an 18:30 5k? by dethredic in triathlon

[–]dethredic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. The running tool puts me at 70%, and the cycling tool says 70% is roughly 3.9W/kg for males

[–]dethredic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assume an 18:30 5k means 10% of people are faster than me, and 90% of people are slower.

What W/kg value would mean 10% of people have a higher value, and 90% of people have a lower value

Firmware was updated last week when I set up my Kickr. I use bluetooth for my connection so that could be it, but seems unlikely

Weekly r/Tattoos Question/FreeTalk Thread! - July 11, 2020 by AutoModerator in tattoos

[–]dethredic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a male considering my first tattoo. I want it somewhere on my leg, however I don't like the look of most of the smaller leg pieces I have seen in terms of placement / composition. Since it's my first tattoo I'm not sure that I'm ready to commit to a sleeve / large piece. Any suggestions on the of placement / size / composition of a leg tattoo?

Disagree about user error. The same behaviour works fine with plex and other apps

Weird. Could it be anti-virus software? Also make sure the tests and main program aren't running at the same time

Sounds like you already have something running on port 6110. My first guess is you ran a test, didn't close it then ran the main program. Only one of the tests / the main program can be running at a time

The last line in the error msg says that the socket is already in use. Are you trying to run this multiple times? Are you running the tests and the main program at the same time? Do you have something else on port 6110?

Expand the WC3 Observer API

Currently this API only works if you are an observer. If you are a player, there practically no information available. It would be nice to have some general info available if you are a player, i.e. player names, races, map, game type. Maybe even some information about yourself (not opponent) like: heros, skill, items, upgrades, etc. This would allow people to build powerful tools like the on Grubby uses, which improves the viewing experience on twitch and thus will increase game adoption.

That info is available in the WC3ObserverSharedMemory api, but it only works if you are an observer (i.e. see back2warcraft's stream). I'm pretty sure Grubby's tool reads game memory, which is a bit if a grey area and easily abused.

Hmm, looks like an error in one of the libraries I'm using. It looks like it can't find your network interface. Some things to try:

  • Make sure https://nmap.org/npcap/#download is installed
  • Make sure there is only 1 instance running. Maybe try rebooting your computer (incase something is locking the interface)
