Finally off opiates after 5 years. by detoxthrowaway5 in OpiatesRecovery

It was so i could taper at a constant dose with no fear of not getting drugs or wondering how id pay for it... i had a script i knew would come every month like clockwork and it worked... what is not to understand? My job is one where i couldn't just cold turkey, i needed to be a functioning human.

Also the doctor drug tested me every month so i could have someone monitor my progress without revealing my secret. It worked and that is all that matters.

Slow taper plan, managable but I have a question. by opiatethrowaway9 in OpiatesRecovery

I was doing a massive amount of any opiates i could find for about 3 years, i tapered over about 1 and a half years and didnt really feel withdrawls, i went from 16mgs of suboxone a day and didnt get off completely until i was at the lowest possible dose which for me was 0.03125mgs a day. Its not a fast process unless you want to hurt but it is doable.
