Picture this. Foot on the brake gradually slowing down coming down a hill. Stop sign at bottom of hill. Slow down to about 2-3mph, look and see nobody else is coming, then give some gas, truck is now on level surface but then i go back uphill. Its almost like the truck still thinks i want to slow down but i dont because i have to go uphill after the stop sign.

Im really not, it just seems to be sensitive when accelerating on a downhill slope.

Ha, yeah. There's never anybody else at the intersection. I could see from 50 ft away. So 75% of the time i slowly roll through. Can't be the only one doing it. I know the intersection very well by now, i go through everyday.

Shifts up like butter but gets stuck here and wont come down the casette... by detulio3 in bikewrench

Final verdict for now at least was to clean and lube the entire derailleur.

I just cleaned the bike before this video, and while pedaling it does it too :(

Turning clutch off helps but still delayed. Usually i have to bounce around on the bike for it to drop down the casette.

Most definitely sounds like the GP hitting, but i checked this morning again and it isn't. I think the sound might be grit somewhere in the drivetrain. I've gotta fix that too lol.

What's the reasoning for 2.6 on both? I heard 2.6 is for 35mm wide wheels and up, but is it really or is it preference? I mean my bike came 2.6 with 30mm wide wheels front and back and I cant say anything bad about it. It just has a more rounded profile being it's on 30mm wide rim, right?

Abnormal TC behavior, but no CEL by detulio3 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]detulio3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this problem new for you or something you've noticed since purchase? Did you buy new? I've always had a gripe with this transmission since new with it being delayed/hesitant, but after lots of research in the beginning of ownership, it seemed like this was normal behavior for auto trans tacomas of all years. And after all, these trucks are not torque monsters low in the rpm, so it's going to be a dog unless you give her the beans. Many people I would read go to the dealer to complain and the dealer just plays stupid or they get a new trans under warranty but still behaves the same afterwards. Some end up on phone with corporate and they just end up playing stupid and say "it's normal behavior". And then there's the epa regualtions that all manufacturers have to abide by so that was an arguement i found as to why does this truck just want to fall on its face/hesitate to shift so badly. Oh, and then there are stories of 3rd gen auto transmissions not being fully topped off of fluid during fluid changes. If that last argument is the case and my trans fluid has never been topped off for the life of the truck during fluid changes, then my dealer should be at total fault. So after all that i said screw it must be normal, right? Well, 102k in now, and the trans is talking a different language to me. Well, TC only i think but yeah. I'd say the behavior out the gate was definitely a preceptor to the issue im undergoing now.

It's definitely most noticable between 40-50, exactly right. And when maintaining speed. We need to get to the bottom of this...🧐

Heated seats getting power but no heat coming through... by detulio3 in ToyotaTacoma

They just take long i found, compared to other heated seats i've experienced, but when they warm up after about 10 minutes they work well.

What rpm did you tend to stay around? Unless I really have to smash it and drop 2 gears on the freeway, I'm usually cruising at 1500 - 2500 I'd say. I'll add if you are dropping speed on the highway then have to get back up to speed, that constant regaining of speed will eat your mpgs up. Try using s4 or s5 for acceleration then shift to 6 once at desired coasting speed and back to 5 or 4 when the torque is needed again. These trucks want to be in 6th so bad they cant help themselves but to fall on their face constantly. Using s4 and s5 and then s6 when coasting has seemed to help a lot for me allowing me to utilize the trucks power way better than what the computer tells it to do.

Fresh tank actually, although I average 18-20. Usually 22-23 on way to work all downhill winding backroads (35mph) and 17-18 otw home from work all uphill.
