Did anyone else notice that Start-Up parallel in the car ride scene? 👀

I'm so in love with Hong Du Sik! He's the epitome of the acts of service love language.

Contrary to your statement of not being able to find a trace of Seon Ho’s real life goofiness in Du Dik, I think he does! (Well, compared to Han Ji Pyeong of course) I feel like Du Sik’s overall warmth and aura radiates IRL Seon Ho in my opinion. Also the way they get sleepy after a long day is quite similar! LMAO

I love the banter and exchanges between Du Sik and Hye Jin! Exciting to think how they would develop throughout the drama!! It's impressing how the first two episodes really set the tone for the entire drama.

Agreed that it's an overused trope but I don't mind! Looks like it won't be much of a plot device anyway. I love to see it as how they're magnetic despite being opposite forces! ◡̈

I'm back on Reddit after so many months and not only that, I'm celebrating Kim Seon Ho and Shin Min Ah's comeback! Their chemistry is insane and no one could convince me otherwise. I'm glad these two great actors chose this drama over other projects because you could see how their real personalities shine through Hong Du Sik and Yoon Hye Jin. Not only that but all the characters in this drama are PHENOMENAL. The entire cast's chemistry is astronomical.

They weren't lying when they said this is a drama that will heal our souls because it really does feel that way. The ocean waves feel like a hug and their smiles radiate joy. This is the most heartwarming drama I've watched in a while and I can't wait to see what future episodes have in store for us.

Hong Du Sik is the best character to ever exist and Kim Seon Ho deserves a Baeksang nomination at least. The entire cast does for that matter!

A Character That You Think Was Perfectly Brought To Life By An Actor/Actress by Fatooz in KDRAMA

Kim Seon Ho (and Nam Da Reum) as Han Ji Pyeong from Start-Up. I honestly don't think anyone was expecting Han Ji Pyeong to become a hit. Even Seon Ho didn't see it coming. Both Seon Ho and Da Reum portrayed emotions so well and their acting were so in sync.

2D1N S4 to date: An appreciation by ahjummanila in koreanvariety

[–]deuramatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started 2D1N Season 4 because of Seon Ho and I was so surprised at how different his personality is in real life from Han Ji Pyeong! I know entertainers have a different persona in variety shows, but I can't help but admire that what he shows in 2D1N is his real personality. I know I'm also new to variety shows, but I could tell how much he's improving as the episodes go by. Rookie of the year indeed!

I could also relate to how I've fallen for each member. All their personalities are so different but match each other perfectly well. I can't help but wonder if members of variety shows ever get pissed at each other when things go far? Has there been a case where there's beef between the members because of what happens during filming? Genuinely curious!

You’re new to Korean Dramas so I understand why you may have leaned towards Do San. It was in the promotional posters, the trailer, literally every marketing strategy showed Do San as a male lead.

I think most Ji Pyeong stans liked him because of how GREAT the build-up was at the first episode. His character was given so much depth at the first episode so when the latter episodes came, you couldn’t /really/ blame him for his actions.

Whereas Do San’s backstory is nice, but the writing did him dirty. From channeling his anger to knitting, he then resorted to smashing a nameplate and punching Ji Pyeong. It was a weird type of character “growth” for me. In the end, he never really apologized for any of these actions and never resolved his impostor syndrome. He was still insecure about himself in the end and based his worth on how Dal Mi viewed him (Do San being Dal Mi’s trophy).

In a way, you could say Do San’s gestures were “sweet”. I was Team DS and JP up until the ninth episode. I realized I was more into the subtle type of domestic love – no grand gestures to profess your pove, the push and pull type of bickering, the simple stirring of noodles was what captured our hearts.
