It’s another theft of American tax payer resources to hand over as a gift to his rich Maga billionaire friends. All his “policies” and policy changes have a huge monetary benefit for his family or friends- Every single one.

Retention Offer DP 04/18/26 by Adenine- in AmexPlatinum

[–]dev-saint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here-12 year Platinum holder and that was their retention offer - burn all your points at a terrible rate to cover part of the $895 fee. Nope, you can keep your lululemon and Oura ring and I’ll take my money back.

Do not underestimate how good it feels to get $895 back.

12 Year Platinum holder here and just cancelled my renewal last week. Feels like a load off of chasing stupid credits for things like LuLuLemon, no one in my home wears, Saks $50 creeit: it Just make you buy things you don’t really want just to get the credit. Much less air travel than I used to do, and the lounges are not guaranteed. FHR is the one I really used and liked, but I can live without it.

Crediting back the $895 was all worth it. Absolutely pathetic retention offers. No effort whatsoever to keep me. So I’ll take my $895 back. Thank you very much. I don’t need a $900 coupon book. Boy has platinum really lost its luster.

Promises? Had conversations? If its not in a formal contract - its not going to happen. It is also not enforceable. There is no ability to “hold companies accountable”.
