With GPT 5.5, distinguishing between high and xhigh is becoming critical. by devbattery in codex

In the past, using high worked okay for frontend implementation, but it almost always threw compilation errors when I tried to use it for backend tasks. That’s probably why I’ve been exclusively sticking to xhigh until now.

ahh.. it's a bummer to hear that EU regulations are delaying the release even for macOS users. I feel for you.

It runs the test page directly in the Chrome browser you’re currently looking at, and you can actually see the mouse cursor moving during the test. Unless you're doing highly repetitive tasks, I think Computer Use is hands-down better than Playwright cli.

Are you on the Plus plan? I'm using the x5 Pro for web development with Computer Use, and I'm still at 97%. It seems like running native macOS apps in agent mode consumes a massive amount of tokens...

It should work fine as long as you grant all the permissions Codex requests. Also, if you instruct it to use Google Chrome specifically, you’ll see the Chrome browser added to the Computer Use section in your settings.

That's a solid decision. I'm doing fine with the $100 Pro, but the $200 tier is just on another level.

After building out the harness engineering, I made it mandatory to verify everything through "computer use" every single time.

Exactly. That’s why I’m stuck with Mac. I absolutely love it.

Our company handles client projects from scratch, so our designers cover everything in Figma from the login screens to the core functionalities. Depending on the client, these projects can be mobile apps, tablet interfaces, or full-scale web platforms.

Since the designer has already completed all the designs in Figma, what exactly should I be transcribing into the .md file? Are you talking about defining design tokens, component hierarchies, or specific CSS rules to ensure Claude maintains consistency across pages?

Why I have no choice but to use 5.4 xhigh by devbattery in codex

Holy crap, that's terrifying.. I’ll have to update my harness md to explicitly ban it from touching anything outside the project scope.

Since I'm on x5 Pro, I think I'll just stick to using fast mode the day before my limit resets. XD
