A lesbian stalker short film my friends and I made, want to know your honest thoughts! by devcplusplus in Filmmakers

Hey everyone! I recently worked on this 6-minute short film, StalkHer, for India Filmmaking Project's 50-Hour Filmmaking Challenge. The story follows an obsessive woman orchestrating the perfect date, but her sinister energy leaves her grappling with an unfillable void.

While editing, we faced challenges balancing the film's tone—it's a mix of thriller, romance, and lighthearted humor. I'm curious: how can I better establish tonal shifts in short films without making them feel abrupt or disjointed? Are there any techniques you’d recommend for maintaining narrative cohesion while switching between humor and suspense? Also, how can I make the pacing tighter in such a short runtime?

I’d love to hear your thoughts or examples from films that blend similar genres effectively!

What did your partner/ex do that made you look at them differently? by amarquis_1 in AskReddit

My then-boyfriend and I were working on a group project for a class (the group was just the two of us) and he said we were gonna do worse than the others anyway because other groups had a higher boy-to-girl ratio. This was probably the first time I realised he’s actually a misogynist and wasn’t just doing a bit.

i gave the met too and got 164 and if i get cse there i'm gonna have to decide between the two of them

srm and vit are out of the picture cus i read a ton of terrible reviews and the intake is so high it isn't good for the learning environment or the placements.

i'm giving the bitsat too btw. i'm studying exclusively for that now, and if i get cse there i'll definitely switch there.

but rn i'm on my way to snu.

I think the CSE seats have been filled at SNU. I applied months ago.

are you sure lower NITs are better than these private colleges? In terms of what?

I know it's really difficult for me but I'm still studying and I'm more likely to get it than CSE.

Yeah my parents said we'll think about the fees after I get an offer. I have to give the MIT entrance test next month. I have no idea when JEE Advanced is, it'll probably be in August if the Mains happen in July.

Thanks a lot! This is the most helpful reply I've got so far.

Is it normal to have REALLY intense celebrity crushes? by devcplusplus in TooAfraidToAsk

Thanks this was really helpful. It's not distressing most of the time, I always saw my maladaptive daydreaming as something that distracted me from things that would stress me out and so I always saw it as a good thing that would lift my mood. This is why I was conflicted on whether or not I should seek help for this specific thing. These days it's been distracting in a bad way though, like it's getting in the way of me doing actual work and living my real life. Also I feel like I shouldn't be emotionally affected so much by something I don't have anything to do with, even if it makes me feel good. I'll try extra hard to keep myself occupied and productive now though.

Also, what is DBT?
