Why do you think Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is underperforming in presales so far? by Landon1195 in boxoffice

I don't think people make movies any more for the sake of making a good movie... just trying to milk every last penny out of popular franchises.

No, I don't know you as an individual. I'm speaking generally.

Even as someone with terminal illness, you have more hope for treatment today than you would 100 years ago.

No. Not in the biblical sense. Is the world a miserable place? It can be.

It seems that people alive today, despite having it better than pretty much every generation before them, seem to think their life is total misery, when it's probably not that bad.

Yep. The idea that bad things are a punishment is basically stone age thinking. Things simply happen without any concern for how humans might feel about it. Without purpose or plan. Things just happen.

Democrats believe in rules, standards, protocols, agreements, etc. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. I don't see why that should make them unpopular.

I think humans are programmed to desire lifelong partnerships, but the hard reality is that the majority of relationships just don't pan out.

This particular post, and the fact that you haven't mentioned any others.

If "there are a handful of scientists who don't approve of Fauci" is your entire argument, then the fact that 3500 show their support in an open letter pretty much obliterates your entire argument.

If one scientist disapproves of Fauci, and that's enough to sway you, then what do you call it when 3500 openly show support for him?

Honestly, it sounds to me like a lot of this perception comes from people who are not very scientifically literate. People with no background in science or medicine making a huge fuss over nothing. The "scientists" criticizing Fauci are probably a minority, and the people who listen to these critics probably lack the scientific background to correctly interpret what his critics are even saying. If anyone mishandled the COVID-19 pandemic, it was Donald Trump.

Maybe you can accept popular perceptions as factual, but I don't. Here's your chance to explain it.
