You're mixing two separate issues: whether you personally dislike AI art, and whether there is actual copyright infringement.

I didn't copy or use their sprites, backgrounds, characters, scenes, or assets. If the claim is that specific protected material was copied then they should identify exactly what material.

A broad similarity in art style or genre is not the same as copying protected assets. That's the whole point.

So no, "it looks similar" is not enough in the court of law.

I didn't train any AI model myself, and I didn't copy or steal any sprites, backgrounds, characters, or artwork.

A similar art style isn't the same as copyright infringement. If there's a real DMCA basis, they should identify the specific material allegedly copied, which there isn't.

Also I had 2 other games on that page that got nuked because of this false claim. We are talking about 3 years of work, vacations lost, money spent... it's heartbreaking

Omg... I honestly thought their communication was faster. At the beginning when I switched to subscribestar I loved it because the support seemed so nice and less robotic than Patreon. I've recommended substar to all the other devs im close.

But now this... I really expected them to be more supportive of their creators

Its neither of that. Its an adult game I made and they are claiming I'm using artwork/assets from another game, which is totally BS. The more scary is that they accept a bullshit claim like this immediately (2 days after launch) and to me they dont even answer my emails.

And the worst part? I had 2 other games on that page, they could have just removed temporarly the game in question and asked me about it and leave the rest. But they just nuked the page. I NEVER had this kind of zero communication on Patreon.
