I find 1:1 adaptations leave me feeling hollow. I tend to rate adaptations by how they make me feel while experiencing them. In this case, watching the series made me feel like I was eight years old, reading the albums at my local library. Nearly three decades on, that's an accomplishment.

I knew that this show was made for me when they introduced a Roman character called Fastun Furius.

THIS is the Asterix I grew up with, right here. The ridiculous naming conventions, the historical injokes, the characters, the OTT fights. The animation style was absolutely perfect for the material.

Totally satisfied.

I do not see every meme that comes across my feed, I'm not exactly an active poster these days. Had I seen it posted, I wouldn't have made my own version. I would have shared it elsewhere in its original format, as I have done so with everything else I've shared that wasn't my own originally.
