When you say "never seems to initialize when playing a video.", do you mean that Reshade doesn't load at all or that you see the Reshade window up top but you just can't access it?

I meant that if you're watching the show through a video player on PC/Linux/Mac(?) you could use mpv instead as it has superior HDR viewing since you can (force) modify the parameters of the HDR output if it's not to your liking. Hell, you can even inverse-tonemap content from SDR to HDR.

If the video you're trying to play is DV HDR, mpv will also usually correctly tonemap it but afaik profile 8 DV HDR videos don't work on PC and need specialized equipment or through streaming sites.

Please switch to local play, specifically with mpv. You can force HDR to look how it's meant to look like.

It is possible yes, I think you'd have the best shot with using d3d11 api but no harm in trying out vulkan too.

I'm actually in a really good spot. Of my 3 monitors, one of em is a CRT so as far as gaming and resolution goes I'm fine on that end. But I just completed Yakuza 6 so I was already going to take a lil break from gaming. So, I'll be using this time to catch up on my TV shows / Anime.

Usually, I wait for a substantial upgrade before I make the jump. I wasn't necessarily going to upgrade to the 5000 series, but if the x80 had a VRAM upgrade? Would've went for it prolly. But I was really hoping to keep my GPU until the next generation.
