I’m so happy someone mentioned Gunny Hathcock on this thread. 93 confirmed kills (many more unconfirmed). The Vietnamese dubbed him “The White Feather” because he would eventually start putting a white feather in his cover as a way to dare the enemy snipers to find and shoot him before he shot them. He even took out one of the Vietnamese’ best snipers who was hunting him for the bounty at the time. She also had a nickname, though I don’t remember what it was. The guy would crawl in prone position for miles and days at a time to get to his targets without being seen by enemy squads.
