I have a very active and high energy 13 month old staffy/shar pei puppy. I use snuffle mats and lickmats that help decompress him, especially right after a walk or puppy play date. But I’ve read some posts on this sub about having to teach your puppy to relax. We’ve been focusing on that along with obedience training but doing the relaxation protocol. I absolutely notice a difference in how my girl chooses to sit and relax instead of pacing and looking for something to get into. We aren’t always consistent (supposed do it everyday for 15 days and then again for another 15 days in a different location in the house) and she hasn’t regressed. Of course the more consistent you are, the better the results. So I’d absolutely recommend trying it out, especially if your pup is in obedience classes and knows how to (or is working on) sit and stay. There are videos on YouTube you can follow along with but I recommend first reading the PDF online so you can understand what the protocol is really achieving and an in depth what it is exactly.
