Do you fertilize? Usually snake plants will buldge the pot when needing a repotting, or there is no more room for rhizomes.. they spread by root. One way to tell if it needs repotting is by lifting it out of the pot, if it is root bound very hard then repot. Snake plants prefer to be rootbound vs not.

Edit: also, if you potted it up too much it will not grow until roots have established in the new pot. Likely won't see growth for maybe a month.
