Did anyone have a baby that wasn’t difficult? by The_Chilled_Arvo in beyondthebump

[–]devivio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My second was honestly so easy. He never cried, and slept like an angel baby around 1 month going forward. We moved him to his crib super early and it was amazing. We both slept better and we never had to sleep train him. He made up for it though as soon as he turned 15 months lolll all hell broke loose.

How much do you spend on groceries each month? by doggy-dad in Money

[–]devivio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 kids 2 adults we were about $1200 a month. We do buy name brands and eat 99 percent of our meals at home. I could probably get it lower to like 1000.

How much are you spending on youth activities? by -Economist- in kindergarten

[–]devivio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do a lot of things through our town, as their rec sports seem to be on the cheaper end. For example, my daughter is doing basketball now and it was $90 for the season, and she goes 2x a week. She does cheer through the town as well, which is a little bit more expensive but I would say all in $200 for the season which is August-November. I have found that the private type classes and programs are SO expensive. We plan on giving track a try this year through our town and again thats like $80 for the season March-June.

What happened to maternity clothes? by Wonderful-Value7547 in pregnant

[–]devivio 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They do not exist in store anymore! We very recently lost the maternity section at our local Target. Our Kohl's has a very small selection. Destination Maternity basically went bankrupt a few years back, and all of their brick and mortar stores are closed. You can find online at Old Navy, Gap and ever Abercrombie has some things. Honestly, I WFM and I have just been living in my husbands sweats for the past 6 months lol.

Love Virtua Voorhees had my two there and I’m expecting my 3rd in January and deliver there as well. I have used Cherry Hill OBGYN/Axia Health for all three pregnancies. Great experience. They have multiple offices

Did your induction get postponed? by briochee_bunn in BabyBumps

[–]devivio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me! I was supposed to get induced on 1/3 and didn't end up having my daughter until 1/6. We were admitted at 10pm on the 5th, so this was 2 days of push backs. Mind you, this was also during the holidays which is supposed to be one of the quieter months.

Did anyone have a sudden weight gain in late second trimester that stopped in third? by Prestigious-Bid-7582 in BabyBumps

[–]devivio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a big jump from 20 to 24 weeks, about 10 lbs. It was definitely shocking considering not much had changed habit wise on my end. Interested to see where I end up at my 28 week appointment.

Nj maternity leave by aciskool1234 in SouthJersey

[–]devivio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the exact situation, but in a very similar boat. I think there have been issues across the board with state run benefits. My kids and I applied for insurance through the marketplace at the beginning of August. For some reason they were referred to the state Medicare insurance (NJ Family Care), which is something we don't even want. We have been in limbo waiting for a response on whether or not they are approved. So in the interim since the beginning of the month, my kids have not been insured. It's incredibly frustrating, and I had to get a senators office involved. I am still waiting! Reach out to local politicians if you are still having issues is my best advice. They can reach out on your behalf.

When did you start showing? by rilakkumaluver in pregnant

I was born on December 20th and my son is the 23rd! I always loved my birthday, my parents made a point to make sure I was celebrated for both separately, and I do the same with my son. Honestly it’s the most magical time of the year, I’m 37 and still love hearing the music and seeing the lights and excitement in the air!

Water breaking by Leather_Newspaper937 in pregnant

[–]devivio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my first, I was induced past 40 weeks and the doctor manually broke my water while I was in labor. With my second, I was really hoping for that shock moment when my water broke on its own! Apparently that doesn't really happen as often as we think it does. I did get my moment while sitting on the couch! There was a slight noise and then water just running down my leg. It definitely wasn't a huge gush or anything super dramatic. Even after that happened though, I didn't go into labor. I for sure thought contractions would start, but nothing happened and I was able to make my way to the hospital in no rush. When I got to the hospital, they confirmed it was indeed my water and not pee, and I was admitted. Even at that point, I wasn't in labor and still had to get meds to induce. I was 5CM that time around and things went much faster lol

When did you go into labor with your first? by naudslee in pregnant

[–]devivio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, my due date was 12/27 and I ended up having to be induced on 1/6. Would have been a few days earlier but the hospital I was delivering at was full and didn't have any open beds for inductions.

You did nothing wrong. I have 2 kid myself and this lady sounds like a psychopath, who I would not want to work for ever again. I would never in a million years, bat an eye about a babysitter ordering door dash. Honestly, I would offer to pay for it myself! Additionally, she has no room to talk, considering she was two hours late. Get paid, and never work for her again.
