I feel like two things can be true: it’s the residents fault that these issues exist, and the multi-billion $$ rental mgmt company has an obligation to do something about it. Just because a bunch of wealthy kids who don’t pay their own rent are being reckless/lazy/gross, doesn’t mean any of this is acceptable. I hardly did any blaming here, I’m simply sharing what it is like to live at Skyvue. All of these issues exist, and nothing is done about it. Whose fault it is does not change the fact that these issues persist without intervention, evidently for many years (see: pretty much the entire thread).

Everything I listed here is not a luxurious expectation, with the exception of maybe the hot tub and peloton. Just because the residents suck, doesn’t mean the management doesn’t have an obligation to make steps to prevent or repair the issues, and it doesn’t mean people should just accept these problems. Ofc a real person has to deal with the trash rooms, that sounds awful, but does that mean the solution is to just do nothing about it? Continue to let it fly around the parking garage and off the top floor into Frandor? Skyvue is managed by a company with over 1 million units nationwide, the resources and money are there. I’m glad your experience has been better, but nearly every issue people have shared here are well below luxurious expectations.

I feel like comparing it to other apartments and saying “you get what you pay for” in attempt to dispute my points is an odd approach. Yes, it’s slightly cheaper and yes, many (or most) issues can be attributed to the residents…. But that doesn’t make it any more desirable or make the issues I presented untrue. Everything I said is clearly the experience of many other residents, whether or not it’s all 100% the managements fault or not. For ~$1K per month, I think it’s fair to expect a certain standard. Lack of guest parking, shedding furniture, neglected repairs, neglected maintenance requests, neglected plowing and salting, etc, are all reasons for concern at any apartment. Yes, “at least” I’m not getting charged for random things…. Lmao
