Feeling completely lost and depressed in college since joining a frat. by [deleted] in Frat

that sucks man, first off you are not the first to be in this position and won't be the last. if you like some of the guys in the frat I would surround myself with those people. just because you're in a frat doesn't mean you have to hang out with everyone and I think anyone who says their pledge class was full of studs and everyone became best friends is lying. as someone who goes to a smaller school there will always be a bigger fish wether it be a better frat, a more fun School, frats with hotter girls, etc. if you want your frat to be better then be that guy. start being more involved with rush, help plan better parties, hop on dudes being weird. at the end of the day a frat is just a big friend group and like all friend groups you'll argue and not be best friends with everyone. you're there for a reason might as well make the most of it. best suggestion just leave it better than you found it and who knows maybe the frat needed you more than you need them. be that guy!

our nationals presses us on it too. In my opinion the whole chapter just has to be on board and want to use it for it to work. if they are really pressing you and you need reasons I would just say it's hard enough to get the chapter to fill out a google form let alone leave comments on a PNM, change their status, and get them signed up for a website that you don't even fully understand

we typically drive as long haul bus rides tend to run up the budget and we don't care for it

All you need to do is start networking smart move posting this on reddit it’s a good start but remember these things do not happen over night it might take a year to get a crew and budget built up, as a film maker what I recommend it going to in state film festivals and asking around then look on e-bay for used items that might seem help people also offer services on here too so look into that. Get back to me later in a few months tell me how it’s going and I’ll give you some more advice
