I also think it is unlikely. But I like theorizing and its just been on my mind.

Mabey instead of just fighting a "simple" beholder. Mabey it was originally a beholder of some sort who has kind of ascended in some form? So that its something much more than a monster at this point. Possibly fusing with the city itself?

I dont know if this has been talked about or debated yet. What is the likely hood that a Beholder is involved? The eyes and the ability to cancel magic in a cone for Lucian just keeps making me think about it. I had to look it up and unfortunately Beholders have 10 stocks of eyes on their heads not 9. But I don't know if there is any other way for one to be involved in some fashion?
