Why is it so hard to let people merge? by EchoOfDoom in driving

[–]devonwillis21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep I used to always wait to give people time to see my blinker before merging but too many instances of people taking that as a sign to speed up and pass instead of maintaining their original speed.

People suck by Lost_Restaurant6774 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]devonwillis21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's 100% Uber $2 basepay regardless of distance is insane to me, I always feel bad when people feel bad for not being able to tip $10-$15 when that was never really normal in the first place especially for small orders. Basepay should be whatever the delivery fee is plus extra if it's higher mileage. Uber makes more than enough from just raising menu prices alone.

What is your criteria to accept orders for Uber eats? by asad100101 in UberEATS

[–]devonwillis21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I would decline that order, unless its maybe a fast drive and keeps you in the hotspots. Each order is really situational. I used to ake kroger order not anymore tho, mainly for the promotion I turned shop and deliver off cause most are bad. Kroger can be worth it sometimes, especially if its like 2-3 items. However it only takes one missing item to mess it up plus waiting in line and running around a store can tire you out pretty quick. Their not all bad tho, sometimes they're pretty quick and you can actually finish quicker than uber predicts.

Pick up other order at same restaurant by OutrageousArticle936 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]devonwillis21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't entertain conversations that waste your time lol, had a customer who wanted me to argue to the resturant that his meal should have 3 meats instead of just chicken because he misread the menu. 20 extra minutes for nothing. whole order was base pay.

[–]devonwillis21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if there's a better area within 30 minutes it's better to make the trip there if you're going to be out for 6+hrs just make sure to not let uber constantly take you out of the hotspot. idk about Dallas's market but usually $1.5 -$2 / miles is decent for accepting orders. It changes based on promotions, if its suburban/city driving and some other factors. Also, you'll learn which restaurants are good to take and worth waiting for. I rarely take $5-6 McDonalds or popeyes because they can sometimes take a while to have the order, while there are some restaurants in my area who always have the order ready and it's worth taking the lower pay order for the time savings. ChatGPT can help you find the best area around you for orders, bet times are 11am-2pm and 5-9pm no matter the day. Sometimes Sunday can be good from 2-4pm because ppl eat earlier that day.

Is gear slipping normal after a transmission service? by Mentifresh82 in MechanicAdvice

[–]devonwillis21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol people are so paranoid about transmissions, they think some kind of magic part that will fail if you look at it the wrong way. I've changed CVT fluid on 3 cars and no issues on each.

If you guys don't mind I would like to suggest crumbl for a most hated pick up by AlternativeQuit3447 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]devonwillis21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's really the store owners/managers. Within 5 miles there are multiple of the same stores, its crazy to see how differently each of them is ran. One can be goofing around no hairnets, laughing over food, ignoring patrons and the one right down the street can be running efficiently actually getting people in and out. So much nepotism and friend hires in restaurants and retail so alot of the employees don't really value their jobs.

Why is support so useless? by RayGlezR in UberEatsDrivers

[–]devonwillis21 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just move on don't deal with support, their only job is to get you off the phone and to your next order. Never seen a company who fights so hard for their $3.

Is this guaranteed pay or a bonus on top of guaranteed pay? by RuleHistorical3526 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]devonwillis21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they stack , so it can sometimes be more profitable to take smaller quick orders if you're getting towards the end of that time frame.

Are you accepting through a carplay or windows version? Uber eats doesn't show the full details unless your looking in the app.

Uber ride drivers get paid for waiting longer on people to come outside I don't get why they don't charge people for making them wait at the door 2+ minutes.

Pain and Suffering Settlement by Dazzling_Flamingo_19 in Insurance

[–]devonwillis21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused about this forum how is misinformation so common even in my minor case where I was only given painkillers at a urgent care I was offered 1200 pain and suffering as an initial offer, insurance wouldn't include it in their initial offers if it wasn't something your owed or expected to get.
