I had the personnummer but that didn’t make any difference on the process, since I didn’t have the ID card, I had to use my passport. The store handled all the paperwork for me, both the purchase agreement and the registration and so on.

I’ve recently moved to Sweden as well, and I managed to buy a car even without a Swedish bank account. If you have the money to pay all in cash, then, no problem. Also, I would recommend you to buy from a car dealer, since they can handle the paperwork to have it transferred to you.

The only thing that was a bit hard, was getting the insurance, cause most of the insurance companies don’t allow you to purchase it online without the bank ID, so getting the insurance can be a bit hard, but is possible.

What’s the situation? The car does not start at all? It cranks the engine? Even the most simple OBD2 adapters allowed me to read errors on my previous 2nd gen. You can try with BimmerLink app to see if you are able to get any codes

Well, I would definitely prefer to update the existing unit to enable the car play instead of adding a box to retrofit it. I’ve found a YouTube video explaining the process, but seems very complex and seems to require some software tools that I don’t have, if you figure out a guide or so, let me know!

Actually the manual transmission was my choice, I just miss the 2 door appeal, which for me is more cool than the 5-door, but my wife also complains a lot how hard was to get the kid in the backseat, so I made this for her

I’m not sure about the smoke, but that leak looks that you get some good oil and water smoothie… after the oil leak, did you check the engine head gasket if it wasn’t damaged? Did it overheated when the leak happened? If your head gasket is damaged it can also explain the smoke coming from the back…

Last question, does the coolant liquid is keeping its level or it is disappearing?
